Anyone know how much a decent used f23 tranny with about 30k miles is worth? I found one for about 350$ is that good or should i keep looking? Or even get mine rebuilt by a shop?

i ordered mine from lkq. alot of them are on car-parts.com and lkq, so you can kinda haggle them with price. i got mine for 396.69 after taxes. found the SAME VIN numbered trans on LKQ and some other site. well the other site was the same price with free shipping, so LKQ shipped it free aswell. they will work with ya, and you dont pay until you pick it up!

yeah def wait til you get the trans. mine had a TOB in it, and still have one trans mount with it. as well as some of the shifter braketry. so dont buy anything else until you know for sure what you need.

i still have it and it will be built. building an f23 really is only doing the differential. nothing else to build really...
the diff bearings in it are TOAST. so when i get a diff or insert, ill have it shimmed and put back together...
whats wrong with your current trans?

TOB is bad. Spinning grinding sound at idle goes away when i push clutch in. When i engine brake at 4k in all gears loud metal like grinding.
Cold starts when i pit it into first or reverse it sometimes grinds gears.
When i shift very slow from one gear to another (mainly 2nd to 3rd) at mid rpm 3.5k and let off clutch slow it seems like it "slips" a bit and i can hear a faint slipping sound. I hope thats not clutch maybe because its only on cold starts for that. But still weird. I have a spec stage 2+ and lightweight flywheel.
Im not a transmission specialist but id say having one for back up with these symptoms is a good idea. Lol.

Yup exactly my thought lol. My clutch is only less than 10k miles so it better not be that! And i know the staged clutches need to be warmed up before heavy use. So i canceled clutch wear out.
