Excuse me??? Econobox? Not me. Everything manufacturing wise about a Kappa was expensive as **** for GM. You should read some engineering notes sometime. Every company releases them for every car. I actually enjoy reading as many as I can.

I don't get what any of this has to do with engineering notes... expensive for GM isn't really a status symbol. And the fastest Solstice/sky still can't even touch the fastest cobalt. Why? I dont know, I am sure its somewhere in those engineering notes.

im not making excuses, just saying its sad. There is a point when a man realizes that that are driving a 4 cylinder car and they no longer view it as a race car. They see something that gets good gas mileage and something that is fun to drive to work. And occasionally can embarrass that average V8 that tries to play with it on occasion. I am at the point, I drive an econobox, if I build the motor and shove a T66 in it... it will still be an econobox. A laggy supra rolling econobox, but still an econobox. That being said there is a place for roadsters, mid life crisis or with a lady in the driver seat.

What's your definition of fast?
What's your application??? for your vehicle?
Bring the most powerful cobalt to a road track and I'll race him, see where he sits then. Hell I'll even throw my buddy in with his S2000 with his pathetic 210whp and watch him destroy you in your GTI and the Snowbalt. 2 months ago I saw my buddy(S2000) at Willow Springs take out a GT-R AMS tuned 630whp. To make it even funnier he loved tapped the GT-R in the back to get out of his way because the dude had to much pride to be taken by a little S2000. If your just street racing and doing it for fun then cool. I seriously want to hear your answer to my questions for you though.
As for the engineering notes, Drew your loosing me here with the mocking. Yea, I LIKE READING ABOUT DIFFERENT CARS, their engines, suspension geometry, chasis, why the company felt like building such a car etc. Anything mechanical is of great interest to me. I'm an engineering enthusiast.
I'm also 27, still got aways to hit my mid-life crisis. Lady's do like the roadster though, especially my girl, who drives an NSX.

Well look on not trying to **** Drew off or anything, I think he just took my honest "opinion" of VW's cause of my "EXPERIENCE" with my GLi as more of an attack.
Does this mean I think that VW's are ****? **** no. Look Drew, the Dub makes you happy, good thats what matters. The realization you were talking about about looking at a 4 cylinder as a gas saver and something fun to drive to work..........tada "GLI". That happened 2 years years ago. The Sky is a 4 too, but if I have this REALIZATION, I can always throw a V8 in and be "With the big boys" now or heck just get a Z06(my next car).

From a dig, 1/4 mile? You sure about that? I think you should contact Panther then on the Solsticeforum. 886whp 741trq. I'm sure he'll be willing to do a roll...just for you and lets not forget Lipstick(Compound turbo setup). Think before saying such things, Kappa's also sport LS series engines LS7, LS3 and yes even a redline is sporting a LS9 twin turbo 938whp.

The VW was just to be a fast commuter, I am sure if I took it to a road course I would surprise a lot of people. (Stock suspension is pretty good on an MK6) Just dont have the time or money for it anymore. I go to Inde all the time, but its because I am paid by the Porsche club and the local stock car group. I dont drive my car around the track when I can drive a friends stock car when I want. I dont even know what we are arguing about right now, but it just seems like you are trying to insult my intelligence and say you will pwn3d any fwd car on the track. And I may be coming off as an *******... because well I am one. Ask anybody.
