what would make it not work with a motor swap? why are the ecu's or whatever different? what about the 2.2 2005 cobalt is different from a 2007 cobalt?

Different ecus man... there's a reason why 2006 and below guys are only able to use Trifecta .

Built 4T45+Big mufkn trans cooler( I mean big!As big as you can find!!!) and correct trans fluid and you won't have any issues. Major reason your last trans cooked was the wrong fluid was in the trans and more than likely cause excessive heat, that your tiny cooler couldn't handle. That's just my $.000002.Makes no sense that Anti Venoms HHR SS tuned with E85 can handle all the power through the 4t45 and you can't especially since you're around the same power as each other and he has a lot more car to lug around(weight).

I agree with this and was thinking the same thing. i think its a heat issue and not a builder or build issue. So either fix the trans you have now, and DRIVE IT LIKE AND AUTO, or get the a new built trans and DRIVE IT LIKE AN AUTO. Tune the shift points and things with HPT and let the car handle the rest.

Drive it like an auto? What do you mean by that. I was thinking something similar with putting a giant trans cooler on it but with everyone I've talked to and I mean everyone has said that the 4t45e will not hold the amount of power I want to put threw it. I gotta trust the professionals the many of them on this one.

So if a 4t45e goes back into this car its going to be at 8 psi. And no e85. Iver already had 4 of them I dont need a sixth

I wouldn't send it to zzp if I did... just buy a hhr ss trans for much cheaper. Or just send it back to IPT. .

Weird that the professionals/Engineers spent an assload of time deciding which trans to put in the HHR SS auto and went with the 4t45 and even offer the GMS1 with that trans.I can garrundamteeee you your last trans fried from wrong fluid and excessive heat. But,your money.

And Jerry,I don't no lift at all.It happens when I hit fuel cut.

Weird because the 4t45 in the HHR is only rated 260WTQ and not 400WTQ or weird because GMS1 wouldn't get you anywhere near 400WTQ? Remember that the 4t45e is Rated to 325WTQ as it's breaking point And where I want the car to be at reliably.
And though that MAY be true and probably is with why my last one died. Either way no one is claiming they can BUILD a 4t45e that is able to handle that kind of power...
Even IPT afterwards is claiming they never said that they could build it for that and that they would never say that... After the fact. lol

Well I'm going off anti venoms lnf that's e85 tuned blah blah blah. His holds up just fine.like i said, your money your car. Your fusing clutches because of heat.get a much larger cooler and i bet you will have a better outcome. And don't consider IPT "experts" since one or some of them there told you to put motor oil in your transmission.Try contacting performance transmission places.I not sure if they do FWD but give Hughes a call and see what they can do.

Yeah I know what you mean lol... I just think theres some kind of difference that Im missing between his and my transmission. lol it wasn't IPT that originally told me to put oil in it it was the guy who made my LSD that said to run oil in it and IPT said oh yeah just use whatever oil he tells you to use. that's when I called IPT back the next day and was told yeah... dont use engine oil in your trans... lol GOD this is such a fucked up situation that I would love to be done with..

Ill give Hughes a call in the morning.

Yeah...IF they do FWD,it shouldn't be as expensive as ZZP but they are still a race trans manufacturer. In bobs Prostock, they made hims a THM400 front section and then had 3 lenco drives behind it,and IIRC it wasn't retardedly expensive.Hopefully they do FWD and aren't extreme on pricing. Are you off tomorrow?

Yeah maybe it's something they don't list but can do.I just don't think there is a aftermarket manufacturer that makes super bad ass clutches/bands for the 4T series.I think if you ran 2 good sized trans coolers right where the grill opening is,it would cut down ALOT of heat though.

Yeah ive been comparing the one I have vs other ones on the market. They don't seem to be all that much better honestly is what scares me though.
I would be on board for this if we could find out at what temperature these transmissions need to stay below and some way of getting a gauge that shows me the temp... That way I would know when to get on it and to stay off it. I know HPT is able to read the trans temp.

Torque reads trans fluid temps.Hell it reads trans fluid temps on my car.I didn't even know it had a temp sensor in the trans till then lol.but the more surface area you have, the more cooling.Get yourself a ELM327 obd2 bluetooth reader and buy Torque for 5 bucks.I spent the 5 for torque and 15 for the reader on ebay.It also reads shift times as well. And Tuner Chris went kinda MIA on tuning. He won't reply to either me or Chris about tuning.SO looks like Im going to have to stick with Vince until I can afford to have Rich at Dyno comp dyno tune it.So...can you email Vince about retuning me to run a 50/50 blend please.
