GTG Part 2.
Well, after the Flats run I've been aching to have another drive and I think I know exactly where we can do it. Payson. Takes about an hour or so to get there from Mesa and the drive this time of year is awesome. We'll head up, eat, do some more driving around then head back to town. Should be about a 4 hour deal, not unlike the Flats run.
If anyone has some suggestions on other location to head to, feel free to speak up! Lets get a roll call of who will be ready and willing to do one...say, within the next 30 days.
When will all you bums be ready? Soon I hope.

We'll time it out so we can get the maximum turnout, I want as many people as possible to go. Is everyone fine with the drive location and whatnot, or does anyone have any suggestions? Also, ride-along buddies are more than welcome to come along, but I would like to keep it ss/sc, ss and redline models if we can, but if anyone has anything againt that you're more then welcome to let me know about it.
I'm also wondering why only 3 of you have responded to this post, I figured there would be a gaggle of us responding back....hmmm

Sounds like a great plan to me man! Everyone else pretty content with the drive location?
I have to say, the drive to Payson on a Sunday this time of year, is just perfect.

im not sure about driving fast up on the rim this time a year cus of the crosswinds on the road and moisture could cause black ice ... dont want anyone flying 300 feet to the bottom. I was actually thinking of areas where we can record some good video of the cars just driving along. The drive up is about 1 hour the mcdonalds would be a good spot to get some grub. locations for some pics or vids shouldn't be too hard to find but at the same time may be impossible to find cus of all the dirt roads.

Even at this time of year there won't be any black ice to deal with, dude. I've taken about 5 trips up to pine canyon in the last 2 months and my grandparents go up there every weekend very early in the morning...no black ice to speak of, it's still just too damn dry and hot. This will be an incredible drive Eric
Well, that's 10 of us so far and I'm sure we can get more interested by word of mouth. This should be a nice turnout if all goes well.
So which exact dates during what month are you guys going to be available?

Yeah, but we might have to take your car because mine is in the shop...again!
The sway bay mounts that were broken in the accident have finally showed up at the stealership and while I was there I showed them how the car shuts off if you bang the steering wheel down a bit. My service advisor wasn't pleased with that and said it's a safety issue he'd like to look into, so he sent me away with my dream car. It's an 05 Malibu classic It feels like you're driving a car made in 1987. Such a POS.
So we can either take my rental, or your SS. What do ya think mang?

Sounds good man. What are some free Sundays you'll have between the 5th of Feb and the 26th of Feb?
That also goes for the rest of you, I'd like to do our drive on one of the Sunday's during February. So I need you all to pick 1 or more days that you will be open (preferably more than 1 to open up the choices). The dates are as follows: 5,12,19,26. Most likely not everyone will be able to go, because a lot of us have conflicting scheduals, so I'm trying to get a list of everyones free days so I can set a drive day where we'll be able to have the largest possible turnout. Make sense?
I need to know asap so we can get the plans rolling along as Feb is coming up on us quickly. Also, Eric and I are going up this weekend to check out some scenic side roads and whatnot for pictures and "spirited" driving.
We'll let you know what we find out later on this weekend.

RL's don't wanna come along to play huh? Bummer. I supposed they'd rather stand next to there cars all night in a parking lot, talking about driving.
I can only handle so much of that. Anywho, glad to have you aboard man.
