CARB Cats/Downpipes

I'm coming up fast on the time at which I'll have to finally register my car in California. Since I'm currently registered in Arizona, I'm sure I'll be screwed on emissions (since AZ only requires OBD-II checks for '00+). When I bought the car, it came with a K&N intake, a catless DP, and a 2.5" Megan Racing Exhaust. I'm hoping I can get by with just getting a catted DP, and putting in my silencer for smog. Anyone have any input on to if this should be good, or if I'll need to do more (I.E. if my intake will give me problems)? Additionally, does anyone know some good places I can get a CARB certified DP? Thanks!

You would probably be best off to just grab a stocker off someone cheap. Ok not sure if any of the highfllow-cat aftermarkets are a pass guarantee.

I rarely throw CELs as it is. I figure, when I do, that it's because I'm catless and have been running my car for a while.

I'm thinking about just taking it to a muffler shop and having them install one for me.

I just checked K&N's website. I was wrong. Not CARB legal.

Yes they will, easy to tell aftermarket vs. Oem, you can tell by the welds also the over all look of the cat.

Stock is your only option, no carb aftermarket for LSJ or LNf.

Yeah, that's what I was told there. The guy told me that it's illegal here in Cali to buy/install a used Cat (which I have no clue why that would be), so my only option with him is to get a new OEM cat, which would be $910 from the dealer (only place to get it from).

I would like to get a used one, cause it would obviously be cheaper, but I don't know of any shops that would be willing to install it for me.

just get a stock catted dp on here and install it yourself. Even if you have to invest in a nice jack and a set of jackstands, you'll still be well below the $910 mark
