23K right here out the door for a SS/SC with every option in the book except the side curtain airbags.

Personally, i read every car review in existence for the cobalt and compared it number for number to the competition and after about 6 months of financial planning, shopping, and consideration, finnally decided on it.

Emotional car buying FTL. But then again thats how GM makes money, and the more money GM makes, the better for us right?

Nothing wrong with the SS/NA though. I know people that would kill for one.

Come on now, its not the size of the badge that matters....its how you use it!

Last time I checked all the other "larger" badges were sitting at the start line while the smaller ones were crossing the finish line. Remember though its really not judged on badge size either...I thought everyone knew...the bigger the spoiler the bigger tha coiler.

Only guys with tiny badges use this argument.

when i went shopping for a cobalt i decided on the 2006 2.4l ss/na as it made the monthly payments lower, also lower insurance rate and did not have to always use 92 octaine for the super charger and with today's road conditions i have had only a few times i could really open it up to it's full potental. so just to see what would happen. we went out into the boonies i went up against a friend who has a 06 cobalt ss/sc he beat me off the line and once i caught up to him ( and it did'nt take very long to) he did not beat me by very much, so i very happy with my 06 ss/na every time i can save money running it on 90 oct. p.s. no dis-repect for the ss/sc it rocks and it's a chevy

that would have been a dead give-away if you did even a tiny bit of research before you bought the car... the ss/sc does NOT come with an auto tranny

The automatic adds 2 grand to the price tag cause they all come with remote start which used to be a $200 option. Leather adds over a grand too. Take them off and its an 18,000
car. Options put you over the top bud.

Its ok the 2.4 SS is still a good little car. Sure you may not go round beating up SRT 4's but we have plenty cars we can kill! Welcome to your new home BTW.

Trade In?

I looked and may have missed it somewhere,

DID you trade something in you owed money on? That may be what you're overlooking and thats your total amount financed + extended warranty + Gap insuance + Doc fee + marketing and advertising adjustment, the list could go on how they word it.

If you overlooked the fact it wasnt supercharged, you probably didnt see all the hidden or didnt tell you about things in the F&I office.

What did the window sticker say for $ MSRP the dealer cannot alter the Factory sticker and reprints are form the factory only, I know cause I work at a dealership, they can only adendumize stickers for add on options. Paint, wheels, mud guards, wheel locks ect.

Not trying to being mean, but you got taken advantage of because you didn't educate yourself first.

www.chevrolet.com would have cleared a lot up before plunking down cash.

If you're happy with the car don't sweat it, learn from the experience and dont repeat it.

If youre pissed, get a lawyer, thats the only hope you have.

I don't think he was taken advantage of - he probably went in to the dealership, asked for a Cobalt SS, and they showed him one with automatic, leather, sunroof, etc. I'll bet he didn't know there were different versions available, let alone what those variations are. Would he recognize a supercharger if he popped the hood? I doubt it. Does he even know what one is? I doubt it. At this point, would he be better off with the SS/SC? Who knows, but by reading the tone of many of the posts here on this thread, he probably thinks he bought the wrong car.

The price was not out of line since like was mentioned earlier, the options he got are all expensive. Sure, he's paying 9% interest, but not everyone qualifies for the 0%. We shouldn't be beating the guy up because he doesn't know how to haggle with the sales guy.

Im not getting technical with this, and not beating anyone up with what I posted.

If you're happy with the car, you didn't waste your money, you just may not have ended up with the best deal.

I bet everyone has had an experience that they didnt make an educated decision on, and learned from it.

Educate yourself, and educate others, thats how things are improved.
