They canceled the event due to wind. It probably a good thing because it would have been miserable. Wind gust up to 60mph someone said. Nice.
We’ll have to try again in March. A few of us didn’t want to waste the day, so we hit up Big Bear for an impromptu cruise.

Yeah, it rather sucked. Except for the wind, the forecast was looking pretty good. I ended up doing the rounds and hitting up all the local junk yards instead. Hopefully we don't have to wait until March and they'll probably try to fit one in on a weekend before then. When they're busy like they were today it's easier for the manager to justify holding the street legal events.

I guess to look at the bright side, if it does end up being March maybe the GM performance upgrade kit will be out of the Cobalt LNFs by then. Because when traction already sucks the best thing is to add more power.

It's on!
Or since I just bought my Focus back from my parents (who I sold it to last year when I got my truck), maybe I'll have to track down a blower kit if you want to race another 2.0L supercharged car. Nothing like some intercooled, Cosworth-engineered M62 goodness.

I'll most likely keep it to street tires, and just lower the boost to help w/ traction a tad yaa right... lol

I've had the Focus out to the drag strip about three times in the past and I doubt it will ever happen again without some type of forced induction. That means it will be either the Cobalt or Neon and I really want to see what the Cobalt can do when the temps aren't near triple digit. And that GM kit is going to be very tempting.
I hear you on the street tires. My pair of stock front Conti's are getting close to end of life and I'm thinking about trying the new Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 which are supposedly pretty sticky for a street tire. A set of drag radials would be nice but I'm not sure I want to buy another pair of wheels yet.
