hey my 06.

got about 18-21 on the city. and anywhere from 27-29 on the highway. using minimal boost.

so the sticker is almost average man.

I made it from here to vegas on less than 3/4 of a tank. and i was doing 90 all the way there. usually using boost to get around people. so it aint too bad. now I get 0 miles to the gallon...........lol.

Well its good to know that the 4 door handles the same. Becuase i test drove an 09 2 door and i thought it handles quite well, but i love 4 doors. Im over coupes.

Right now i am debating over 3 things:
1. Keep the LS1 because i am 2 months away from owning it. (Then i could use car payment money to mod it, but no matter what its still not going to get over 18 mpg average, and its not the best DD.)

2. Sell the Camaro and put a huge down on an 09 Cobalt SS 4 door. (Obvioulsy an all around better car except for power, which im not sure i can live without V8 power at my fingertips. Also IDK if my flamesuit can handle the backlash.)

3. Sell the Camaro now while it still has decent value and save for an 010 Camaro. (This car will have it ALL, except MPG, practicality, and price)

not a lot of money will get the ss/tc to comparable power levels with your big v8. with close to double the gas mileage. factor in the less weight, and don't be surprised if you're slightly modded cobalt is pulling.

True that. Well what mods will void warrany? Obviously anything with tuning, boost, or the turbo itself. But what if i had about $3k to put into it and got CARB legal intake and a catback? Or maybe even a catted headerback exchaust?

Wow you guys drive your balts hard. I got 40mpg last time i drove back from MN to AZ. Right now i get about 35 highway and 30 city cause of the crappy additives in the gas in the winter.

I'd wait for the GM Performance Parts upgrade to come out. It may include an intake for the Cobalt (the kit is already out for the LNF-powered Kappa roadsters and the HHR), it's going to be CARB approved and maintain the factory warranty, and should put out between 290 to lower 300 horsepower and have a very healthy torque curve in the midrange. Then maybe get a downpipe with high-flow cat (biggest restriction in the stock exhaust system) and call it a day unless you think the car is a little too quiet and want an aftermarket muffler. The stock 2.5" mandrel bent stainless exhaust is sized fine for the air flow the stock K04 turbo can put out and the intercooler in some initial testing looks to be fine for cooling as well.

dude, you got an LS with manual tranny...nuff said

but just incase, for 1 thing, when you have the capability to "BOOST" you tend to use it...a lot and also even keeping your foot out of it your car will use a lot less fuel due to tuning of a N/A engine in comparison
