Coming from the exhaust or engine. I'm sure you know about the oil sludge problems the 1.8's have. 2.0 sohc cats go bad all the time and rattle under load but you can't hear it at idle.

For the fuse blowing, I would check all the bulbs (front and rear) and make sure they are the right bulbs (and the circuit boards are ok), I believe all the lights on the left have have 1 fuse and all the lights on the right have 1 fuse.


Also to the op, unless he's tuned you got him. The early 08's came with the FSI motor and later changed to the TSI, a little different and rated at the same power. To me the TSI motor feels a little more responsive.

Im stock and i beat my friends 1.8 gli and he has full bolt ons and apr stage 2 from a digg he pulled on me a little but i caught up quick and from i roll i pulled two cars on him

 

raul put bus lengths on him for 200 cash money

that can go towards your meth kit or heat exchanger
