Haha yeaa saved the best clip for last. I wish I had the camera mounted in a better spot though because that perspective doesn't give a good view of how hard it was to keep up with him.

Being able to intimidate a C6 around a track in a lowly cobalt is too much fun

Lots of good video shots. What lap times were you getting? If you're passing everyone in HPDE 2 it might be time for you to consider moving to 3. I can tell you it's a lot more fun when you have open passing rules. Just something to think about.

I haven't even timed any of my laps. I gotta go back to the video and time it. I figure I'll move up to 3 my next event, but I need to work on my awareness a little more. At the moment, I'm only looking one flag station ahead when I should be looking at 2-3 ahead, and I'm not scanning my mirrors enough. I'm sure those are skills I can master in 3 though.

Depending on the track you can usually only see one flag station ahead so that's not too big a deal. Track awareness of the other vehicles is a much bigger deal. Keep in mind that in HPDE 3 there are a lot more fast cars that will be allowed to pass almost anywhere. Awareness is critical. I've taken my 13 year old son to Lemans karting a couple times. I always stress track awareness to him. It's more important to be aware and in control than to be unaware and on the edge of control doing 1 second a lap faster. If you're unaware you can easily be involved in or cause a crash. You have to be comfortable in the car. As you work on your skills and gain experience you will go faster.

Move up when you feel confident that you can safely drive with less restrictive rules and faster drivers. If you haven't done it yet, try to go out with someone as a passenger in HPDE 3/4 or the advanced group with other organizations. You can learn a lot just riding along without having to do the driving.

Oh, my biggest pet peeve -- When someone is trying to pass don't just move to one side -- move to one side and LIFT OFF THE GAS for a second. Then get back in it and try to follow their lines.

Good luck and have fun, whatever group you run.

was this with ur hawk pads? might look into taking out some weight as well back seats, back seat bar, spare, jack, and trunk mat was about 110lbs which takes all of 5mins to do.

Spare, jack, floor mats, but the rear seat is still intact. I need to look up a DIY to getting the seats out. But what's the point if I'm already passing Corvettes jkjkjk

Yeah sac is easier and closer. I have a buddy from work going today too, and he's been talking about smoking me for a 1 year and half now.
