The Official "Nor Cal" Thread

Besides, I don't want any particular person to go karting. What I was hoping was to meet and drive with some Cobalt owners. Ideally I could find someone really fast that I could learn from. If not, then maybe I could pass on some knowledge to a slower person(s). I know most people on this forum just want a faster motor and some bling on their car. They think that makes "them" faster. Being a faster driver doesn't have a lot to do with the car. Ding, Ding, Ding,........ It's the driver, not the car. All the stupid street race videos are ridiculous. Who cares? I can and do read all the tests to find out which cars are faster than other cars in a straight line. Mashing the gas pedal and looking down the road doesn't take any talent. It also doesn't improve any skills you need to keep yourself alive while driving daily on the road ways with all the completely retarded drivers. The skills you learn on a track will not only improve your car control ability, they will improve your survivability.
What ever people decide to do is fine. I just try to offer up productive options to help the group. If people would rather hang out and look at cars, or spend their time and money adding a new down pipe etc, it's up to them.

I disagree about your straight line comment. I do agree that it takes a driver to go around a track. I'm be down to do this and I just mentioned myself going because I can't speak for anyone else. I'm a full time college student with 2 part time jobs.. I'm still saving and I have a big trip with this GF I'm saving for this summer. How much does this cost....

You should be paying for me. I worked full time and did college full time at night. This fall I'm starting it all over again. Working full time and doing law school at night. Or maybe you should pay for me in appreciation of my 25 years of military service. Either way, if someone paid for me I'd be happy.

Like I said earlier... going to a beerfest and leaving tonight. Maaaybe next Friday I can make it... Also, I'm afraid to hang around the Corvette guys... Too much peer pressure to buy one! (Why do C5 Z06's have to be a meager 20k!!)

But every tom, dick and harry drives a vette..Its just like the mustangs yeah they fast they cool, there is an amazing array of parts and knowledge about them along with dozens of clubs, forums etc. I like Vettes myself but have other cars id put before one. Truth be told im sure most cobalt owners got theirs for one reason or another but im sure some of the reason(s) is because it is something unique and different and..(dare i say it) its not a honda

Looks like the Norcal Cobalt people missed out. It was $60 for an hour of racing since they have a half price deal from 10 to midnight on Friday and Saturday nights. There were some fast guys and hardly any slow people so the racing was close and fun.

Yeah I thought it would be worse too..
He trapped 107 on street tires and 91.. so I expected his top end to be a little better than that considering he should be trapping 110+ on e85
Antonio.. I think jason has some videos
