True that. I stopped dropping money on the balt last summer. Saved so much money now, to the point where it's almost paid off.

Karts in Fremont Friday night 8/6 around 9 ish

I know, I know, no one here wants to improve their driving ability since they are already faster than anyone in the Bay Area, but,............. Just in case someone might want to come out and have some fun testing, and quite possibly improving, their driving skills there will be a karting get together on Friday August 6th at Lemans Karting in Fremont. It's half price from 10 to midnight, but the plan is to arrive by 9 so there's time to bullshit, sign in, etc.

As usual there will be lots of old fat Corvette drivers there. I'm sure all the young Cobalt drivers are much faster than those old fat guys, a few of us just have to come out and show them.

Anyone want to go?

You still have time since it's not until next Friday 8/6.

You can drive as much or as little as you want. During half price it's about $50 for an hour of driving, but you won't be able to drive for an hour straight unless you're a triathlete. You can probably drive for an hour total within about 2 hours.

If we have enough people show up (16-20) we can take over the track and run an hour long race with teams. You pick a team mate (or get matched up with someone) and do drivers changes during the race. Just like real endurance racing.

Just trying to get people to come out and drive. It's my way of poking fun at people who say stuff like:

"What's up bro! I'm down to race anytime man.. I know you've got a lot of stuff done now! Some more **** than me for sure! **** probably hauls.. I haven't been able to go to the track this season because I have mandatory class every wednesday night.. Only racing I could do would have to be on the street haha and idk if you're down. Either way have fun at the track and lemme know!"

Yet, when I offer up a cheap, fun, fair, and easily accessible place to race, no one comes out. I guess risking your car, huge fines, and people lives must be more fun and more worthwhile.

I'm just trying to have some fun with some legal competition. While having that fun hopefully everyone participating would come out as a better driver, and no one would tear up or possibly lose their own car. More importantly no one gets hurt. A buddy of mine was convicted of vehicular manslaughter when the idiot in the other car he was street racing crashed and killed himself. My buddy didn't do anything directly, but he was part of the race and therefore held responsible. If you think it never happens, or it can never happen to you, think again.

So when I continually put up posts about karting or some other legal competition I'm not doing it just to harass people, I'm hoping that at least one or two people might make the right choice and take it to the track. Karts are just the easiest and cheapest way to do it.

Go karting is nothing like racing in cars though... Imo cars are much more exciting, be it street or track. Cause in a car its YOUR car, not some tracks karts, and you like to know what it does and how it competes. That's just my opinion though.

I street race for fun.. Yeah. I race at the track, too. I've raced a lot (legally). Forget that detail? Cuz you seem to be aiming to pinpoint me..

Go karting? I've gone 3 times this summer.. **** is fun.. but proves nothing in terms of driving a regular vehicle. Idk where you're making this comparison.

If you want people to come out to your go karting why don't you just ask instead of making some cheesy challenge like "lets see who the real drivers are"....

Just a thought...
