Damn, 2.1 60' is pretty good for a fwd.
Happy New Year to all the Northern CA Cobalt dudes/chicks.
Oh, I've hardly had a chance to drive my Z06 since the superchager install and I've already killed the transmission. An upgraded ZR1 transmission will be going in as a replacement. Should be done by the end of January. Be happy you have a Cobalt. Parts are much cheaper.

Transmission replacement party this weekend February 4,5
My replacement transmission arrived last weekend, so this weekend, I plan to get the bad one out and put the new one in. At the same time I will install the LG transmission and differential coolers. The goal is to get the transmission installed while having as much fun as possible.
I have never changed a transmission in the Corvette (or installed the cooler system) and I know its pretty much an all day job for 1-2 people, so I'm asking for your help with the task. I haven't decided if the job will be on Saturday, Sunday, or (probably) both days. I'm available all weekend, but I want to make it convenient for anyone who is willing to help. I know the Superbowl is on Sunday at 3:00 pm.
If you have done or participated in a transmission swap your help would be greatly appreciated. If you have no more experience than I do, your help would also be appreciated. All you need is a tiny bit of mechanical ability and a desire to help/learn. If you have absolutely no mechanical ability at all, that's ok too, hang out and provide comic relief as we make mistakes.
I should have access to a shop with a lift about a quarter mile from my house in Milpitas.
I'll provide all necessities: coffee, bagels, sodas, beers, pizzas, burgers, etc.
If we're finished by Superbowl time we can watch the game at my house for those still interested even though the Niners aren't in it, and for those not interested in the game, Supercharged Z06 rides.
Email or call me with your availability so I can estimate the food and drinks I will need.
Thanks,
Mel

P.S. If you know of anyone else that would like to show up and hang out or lend a hand feel free to pass this on to them or bring them with you.

The end is near, end of the job.
Yesterday we got everything out, replaced the trans, installed the pump for the coolers on the differential, and put the driveline and suspension back in.
Today is for installing the cooling system and buttoning everything up.
Come by and check it out. We have plenty of beer and food.

The car is done. We had a few hiccups throughout the job, but everything is good now.
All the people that helped did a fantastic job. I fell off a fence Saturday night and if it wasn't for all the dudes there helping there's no way it would have been done by Sunday evening. A big thanks to everyone that came by and pitched in.
The car shifts great and should run cool during track days.
