i dunno. i talked to john and he said he would do it. he only charged me $600 to pull my old motor, break it down, rebuild and reinstall the motor in my srt. so im pretty sure just to remove and reinstall a new motor in the cobalt will be a bit cheaper. $700 is kinda steep for me right now

Cuz a cobalt engine takes alot more work to get out. Have to lower the frame. The srt4 has nothing under the engine. Couple hours anyone can have an srt engine out the cobalt is at least full day or 2.
Be carfull wat l61 u buy theres a few different ones out there.

Ill take ur blown l61 if ur just gona toss it.

last thursday i went to pick up my car....still not running. it ran for about 15 minutes so it can get to operating temp and so we can find any leaks. car run good and we found 1 little fuel leak by my FPR. kill the car, fix the leak, put everything back on. by the time we get done, its about 20 minutes, i go to start the car, it runs for 1 minute and dies and wont turn back on. cranks but wont fire. builder does a compression test, cylinders 2-4 have 195-200 psi, cylinder 1 has 0. he pulls off the head and i guess 1 valve on the intake for cyl 1 isnt seating right. so tomorrow hes coming to pick up the semi built head to use. hopefully that fixes any problems and i can have my car back next week

Hey, how are you all doing?

I'm brand new to the forum and I've had my SS for about 6 months now.
I joined the forum in hopes of meeting other Cobalt SS owners in the Bay Area and to gain as much knowledge about my car as possible.

Any get-togethers happening anytime soon?
I'd love to see other people's cars.
