The Official Raven SS Engine Build Thread

So there comes a day in every cobalts life to where number 4 piston gives out...that day came out just under 20,000 miles for the raven ss..so heres a little video of me being stupid and letting u guys hear the sound of WTF..and just so u newbs know that if feel u have fucked ur car up but arent sure then u go to someones house that has heard ur car before and he goes "damn bro what did u do?! u sound like an sti now"...although its ment as a complament..ITS NOT GOOD lol

The short block is an AAS stage 1:
Decking, honing and balancing
AAS custom ground balance shafts
polished con rods
Diamond forged aluminum pistons (10.1:1)
Rings
complete longblock built to AAS specs.

Head is going to be a AAS stage 2:
Flow Bench miled and ported head
GM valve seats
Ferrea +1mm valves
ferrea valve springs
ferrea spring locators
ferrea Titainium retainers
JBP Stg2 Tri-Flow Cams
5 angle valve job
complete assy by AAS tuning onto stage 1 block. With ARP head studs.

Complete installation of engine including excedy stage 3 clutch and dual pass end plate. And complete tuning for 8000rpm with water/meth injection with pump gas. Just about 370-400WHP

all of this will be in addition to the mods I already have:
K and N cold air intake, 2.7 pulley, 60lbs injectors, cobra heat exchanger, gm stage 2 belt, zzp header, 3inch zzp downpipe, magnaflow highflow cat, magnaflow cat back exhaust, Custom air bag suspension from Kreative Kustomz, Turbo Tech Passenger side engine mount, Turbo Tech Tranny prothanes, hurst short shifter

I wanna thank Matt from AAS, Aaron from TTR, Rodney from AIS, and Junior(Euthanasia) for all the help. And of course my Socal Ecotec Family i hope i can set the standard for our cars and all of yall can surpass me! Shut up jimbo i know u will soon haha

I'll keep u updated!

alright I don’t have lots of money to blow up my motor but I do want to make it little faster and I want the spool sound how should I mod it should I just get the stage 2 kit from GM and the headers and down pipe and that’s it or what do you think. And man I’m sorry for what happened to your ride. Hey quick question though the new guys that are in the crew now one of them is GM certified can you asked him how much he would charge me to put my tranny on.

Well there are a lot of pulleys and injector sizes I just don’t know witch one would be safe for my car being stock.

... I'd go down to a 2.8 with those 10.5's... you'll still make loads of power...
