Sky redline

Sky redline
Does anybody out there no anyone who has the new sky redline with 260 hp. I was thinking about trading in the SS/SC for one. I wish they would have bumped up the hp on the SS/SC, but even with the stage 2 I'm only pushing 227

They are also pretty close to the same weight surprisingly;
via GMcanada.com. Base Curb weight (kg / lb.):
Sky;
man.: 1330 / 2933
auto.: 1344 / 2963
Sky Redline;
man.: 1356 / 2990
auto.: 1372 / 3024
But they also have better weight distribution at 52/48 compared to the cobalts 60/40 (coupe).. and are RWD.

I could be wrong, but I remember seeing somewhere that the Sky Redline and the Solstice GXP were will only pushing 220-230 Whp, its 260hp at the crank.

I seriously doubt its at the crank because combined with the weight of the solsctice and the drive train power loss of RWD it wouldnt be able to do 0-60 in 5.5 sec and quarter mile in 14.2, its 260 whp

http://www.automobilemag.com/feature...red_line_dyno/
according to this article theirs dyno'd at 228whp & 248tq
http://www.solsticegxpowners.com/for...read.php?t=558
this guy dyno'd stock at 242.4 whp & 241.5 tq
So, they I'd say they pack around 230-240whp. I've seen a few other stock dyno's from auto reviews and another forum and they all put it in around the 230-240 WHP range. Not sure were I saw 220ish whp.

Eh Well this isn't hick, This is his buddy but my pops has a new 07 Redline Sky... Its Definately a small car... No room in the trunk, Driver seat is small for anyone over 6'... I'm 6'1 and my knees were hitting the wheel... But besides that not much to complain about... Instant turbo spool, Smooth Comfortable ride due to the bilstein coilovers, major head turner, Feels pretty fast, Leather seats could be a little better but i'm not a fan of leather, Ipod jack is handy... All in all Its a decent car for the money but I'd rather keep my 06 Wrx with a few suspension mods... The difference is huge... But I like the 24k i paid for mine and due to the huge demand he paid almost 40k to buy it in front of the list of people waiting for it... His car from what he was told is the 2nd of the assembly line(vin ending in 000002).. At the local track night, We talked to a guy who managed to pull out a 14.1 on a stock Sky Redline... BTW my WRX ran the same stock and this is in Vegas... (13.6 anywhere else... Vegas sucks for racing heh

Has anyone raced a redline or GXP? Just curious how they run on the streets. They seem to be about the level of a GM Stage 2 balt?
Another thing, I was on the Solstice forums and someone on there put on a custom 3" Magnaflow cat-back exhaust and gained 22whp. Funny thing is, he only gained 16whp w/ a 2.5" cat-back, and everyone on here says that 2.5" is the way to go and 3" is too big. I can't find the link, but they were real dyno numbers, so it was a pretty convincing argument. Would the dual exhaust have anything to do with it?
Oh yeah, that ^^^^^ is one ugly engine bay, compared to the SS/SC at least.
