I am creating SoCalEcotecs over again, if you don't want to be part of it, fine.

And we will try to cater to everyones interest as much as possible. I'm not trying to create a little country or anything like that, just create a club, and creating a club means there has to be some level of organization, which i'm simply volunteering to participate in.

 

i have wills back and if someone doesnt wanna be in it then dont...

 

As long as there's no stupid president vice president etc or some bullshit like that then hopefully it'll turn out fine, and THANKS for picking on my post even though there are others who agree with me.

 

if any of u guys were in the first socal ecotecs u would know what we are talking about... its about organization, and guys car meets cost money and unless someone is willing to pay all the way then whatever... Casey u remember that the meets used to be alot more together and it was better

Well maybe you're not, but what I'm saying is you can be more organized without having a heirarchy, and I don't like the thought of only a couple people in charge or deciding where we go or what we do.

wouldnt u like to ask only 1 person about maybe the location of the meets
and then ask only 1 person about how much the shirts or sticker are gonna cost and who the money is gonna go to?
its about making it easier

No I don't want to ask just one person about where to go lol, that's what I mean. We won't get to do as much if only one person is in charge of organizing. Like I said, organizing is fine, but only to a certain degree.

Ok I get that, but say someone had an idea, and a slight majority voted no so they couldn't have the meet there, that's just unfair. It should be wherever the person who steps up to plan it decides it to be, and whoever wants to come can come and whoever doesn't can stay home.

 

The purpose of the positions is not to be in charge. It'll just be a central resource. The person tracking the meets will be there so everyone knows where they can get the info.

I think you misinterpreted my intentions.

 

I think to avoid any kind of power trips there should be no such positions, I could see people getting controlling.

 

ok well if a majority votes for something else cant the other idea just be the next month... its not fair the way it is now... now when someone decides that how it goes
and idk bout u guys but i think the location of the meets really needs to change from being so far away...
i know that the oc is close for u guys but not for alot of us out here in the ie...

 

that will be the purpose of a vote. Everyone is free to make suggestions. One person will combine all the suggestions, and we will put it to a vote. I can't think of a way to make it any fairer.

Why wouldn't they go just because thats not what they voted for? Compromises are necessary

The vote will be to get it as close as possible to what everyone wants. We are just trying something new to see what works. We can always make changes if things aren't working out.

it waqs working out quite well originally until members moved away, (Doc"initiated the site, got the ball rolling the first time", Jimbo"council member...iirc", Angelo"president"...etc.) but dont mean anything now tho
