will most likely not. a static IP from any service provider will cost you a few hundred a month because you are basically renting out the IP from them so it does not change what so ever. a dynamic which is the default you would get changes usually on a weekly basis, its cheaper because your not trying access the same network hub all the time. this is where ipmailers come in handy when dealing with remote desktop connections.

 

Oh, gotcha. I just know i had to put in the IP for my XBox, and it never seems to have an issue with switching along with he router etc. i guess.

not to start confusing people but that is your router IP address which does not change. the address that goes into that will change it would go something like this

cable ip of 1.1.1.1

goes into router

router ip's start with something like 192.168.1.100 (dlink example)

your cable ip in a week will turn to something like 2.2.2.2 your router see's this and makes the appropriate changes but does not need to change your network ip's (192.168.1.100) because it does not need to. hope that clears that up for ya will.

the cheapest netflix is 9 a month with unlimited streaming to your computer or netflix ready device. since i have it on my ps3 i literally only pay 9 a month cause ps network is free :p. to the whole ip address thing your home router which isnt really a router but thats another story has a gateway ip address then has a range of ip addresses it assigns to all its network devices. i forget what the actual protocol name is its been too long since ive had to do any networking but i still have a good understanding of it

 

i pay 9.99 for 1 disc and unlimited streaming. My parents pay like 15 or 17 bucks for 3 disks.

Rentals are unlimited, but you can only have 3 disks at a time.

ya i know its not a router its a switch but the manufacturers have labeled it a router. and netflix really isn't any better then downloading a movie, same quality and such difference is your paying for the movies is all.
