So I just got a 09 ss/tc and last week started smoking alil.. Soo I took it to the dealer and they took the head off and told me the pistons were cracked and a piece broke off and was rubbing on the cylinder walls and metal shaving where all in the oil.. They stated that it was cause by to much boost and that Gm wasn't going to cover it... Soo where I'm going with this I wanted to see if anyone else had a motor problem and also if anyone knows how to fight Gm to get it covered.. The car only has a bigger intercooler and they said that it makes more boost ( With is BS) ANd told me that the ic voided my warranty along with the intake I don't have one it that they said it did.. Soo if anyone has some advise please feel free and let me know what you think I should do..

Was it tuned before?

I don't think there's much you can do except upgrade since everything is apart lol

I was lucky to get mine fixed

 

they checked for a tune and did not see one they said it was stock..

 

What color is your SS/TC? And if you have any pics(underhood shots) post them.

On a side note I booked my hotel & flight. I'll be in town getting in around 3:30ish August 25 and then flying out 7:00 ish (night) on August 29. I've got work most of the day Thursday, all day Friday, and then in the morning Saturday.
