It helps that at 80 with an overdrive trans they turn rediculously slow. Its like a diesel engine. My dad's turns at like 1800 rpm or something stupid like that at 80 in OD. It's barely using any fuel.

Yea I hear the fuel economy thing. In this day and age where fuel is approaching $4 a gallon in California its pretty important to consider. HP vs. fuel economy didn't matter in the 90s as much or in the 60s at all. That is the reason why I like the Corvette too. My dad's (with an automatic) gets 26-28 mpg driven at a good highway speed of say 80-100mph. On a trip to Havasu (spelling) he and I took, we did 100 most of the way, messed with an SRT-4 up to 150 in Palm Springs, and still got 25 mpg. Pretty impressive for a V-8. I was expecting to see 20 at the very most. But, that thing made me a believer, that you could have 350whp (intake and exhaust mods) and still get good fuel economy. Does the 370 reccomend primo fuel as well or does it run on 87 octane? I'm not sure and too lazy to look it up now.

pretty sure it takes premium, pretty much expected that though as the v-6 altima i had before my cobalt had to have the same thing. you could run regular 87 in my altima though, the only thing it did was cut the performance of the engine a little when you did. same type of mods though on a 370z will net you a little over 300whp also from just intake and exhaust mods (i.e. CAI, header, cat back exhaust).

lol, why not just have him throw a twin turbo setup on there...if he has a later model 350 with the VQ35HR motor that thing can handle about 450whp to 500whp on stock internals...shoot if i had the time and money to do a setup like that on a 370z i wouldnt hesitate for one bit aside from voiding the warranty which i would probably wait until warranty is up anyway to do that type of setup. Maybe thats what he's worried about?

my buddy has a 370z with a 4.5 stroker kit and its turboed
it has that padal shifting ****, he told me it lags as it cant keep up with the cars new power haha
he plans to do a rear mount turbo as well or swap out the turbo under the hood
im not sure of his plans, his car is a show car so it has some nice rims and a custom kit and some interior work done

I'm not sure how much my amigo wants to spend, but I know a twin turbo is out of his price range. I'm not sure what year he has, he told me, and I forgot. I told him to start with a tune and an intake and go from there.

damn, must be nice having that much money to put that kind of work into one lol. must be a sick 370z though, probably putting down around the neigborhood of 700+RWHP i imagine? but yeah the automatic tranny on the 370z is well known to be a little laggy at times especially when you start adding in more HP to the equation, thats why i plan on getting a manual myself, dont have to worry about the computer thinking about what to do next quite as much, lol
