So Cal Chat part deux!

This question is for the SC guys. I met this dude on base today the a SS/SC balt Vic Red with a high rise. He says that when he pulls up to a stop light or stop sign his car starts surging and sometimes shuts off. Diagnosis? Mods are KNN Cold intake and Magnaflo exhaust. Filter hasnt been serviced in 20,000 miles
Ok so we cleaned the filter and it was filthy. Also cleaned the inside of the pipe and it is still doing the same thing. What should we do now? I need a guide on taking off the TB and cleaning it.

Once its nice and clean, rinse out the inside (very carefully, you dont want to get anything wet that you dont have to, especially the electrical connector). Failure to rinse it out could contaminate the MAF with cleaning product after its reinstalled.
Now just reinstall the TB the same way you took it off.
Cleaning the TB solved my surging/stalling/weak idle back in the day, and it still appears to be the #1 diagnosis for idling issues.

remove 4 bolts, unclip connector, and TB is loose. Open the throttle blade SLOWLY (opening it quickly actually generates a voltage, and a very small number of people have reported electrical issues after doing this) Spray down the inside with carb cleaner, engine degreaser, w/e you prefer. I used a paper towel to wipe down the sides of the throttle blade and walls of the throttle body and a q-tip to reach the corners and the lip of the throttle blade.
