read forums, look at articles, read a couple key books or web pages, etc. Doesnt take long to learn everything, just a couple years maybe, which isnt much given the pure volume of information

Absolutely... The internet is the single greatest recourse for information on the planet but you just have to be careful of what you read and take as truth.

I think the biggest problem is that people look at a motor and think it is impossibly complex and a total mystery. Start slow, and read good resources and always look at it with an open mind. I know I don't know a fraction of what many people know. What I know has been gathered over years of ripping down and rebuilding dirtbikes and reading everything I can get my dirty little fingers on. Dirtbikes are cheap, simple, and basically have all the same components as any car engine. If necessity is the mother of invention then dirtbikes = mommie.

noth are great motors those

But the LSJs you are speaking of are turbo swapped, running E85, or race fuel and methanol/water injection. Plus they swapped injectors. The power they make is super high in the RPM range.

yes and all the lnfs making big numbers are also turbo swapped

both with a turbo swap(including all necassary supporting mods) and no internal work whatsoever can support past 400 hp and have very similar curves
both have forged internals cept for pistons lsj-port injected lnf direct, lsj compression 9.5-1 lnf 9-1 (may be remembering these numbers wrong) both DOHC lnf has VVT
the differences arent huge but stock for stock theyre pretty comparible with the lnf being slightly better

set aside a certain amount each pay check to go towards your car
might take a while to go fast but oh well at least you wont leave yourself broke like most do

Yep the advantage the LSJ has are the magical swapping injectors.

It is a good first step to building credit tho. And some people actually do that. Put a purchase on credit card and pay it off in a good amount of chunk payments. I did that with a couple of things on my car to start building credit
