The HID's shut off when you switch to high beams, but the high beams and HID's stay on together if you use the flash to pass. There is a mod called "Ultimate high beams" in the how-to section explaining how to make it keep the HID's on with the highs. It uses a resistor or something...

I ordered mine together and as plug and play. All you need to do is mount the ballast (preferably under that black housing cover thingy), connect to the stock wiring harness, aim, and tap into the factory harness for the LED's and Halo's. Red and white wires on the LED's/Halo's go to the brown-ish wire on the factory harness, and black wires go to black. I used four 18-22gauge t-taps and two 14-18gauge t-taps per side. The white wire and one of the black wires is larger than the red wires and two black ones (it's because the three led wires are connected together.)

Operatic, great product, works excellent and great quality. I do not appreciate the fact I have not have my PM's or the message sent through your website answered. I asked about the shipping of my lights, which obviously is no longer an issue since I have already received and installed them, but you have to respond back to your customers in a timely fashion, if you respond at all. Sorry to seem so rude but I was very disappointed about this, although like I said, definitely a product worth ordering.

Ughhh...

Note, this is for a PLUG AND PLAY assembly. I'm not sure how to work with the relay harness.

1. Open hood

2. Remove two 10mm screws holding the headlight assembly to the engine bay (only two on top, silver)

3. Remove headlight by pushing the grille-side inward and pulling the rest out towards the fender side and forward at the same time. This may require pulling the bumper (near the grille) to get the assembly out, just bend it a little by pulling on it, the headlight is in there pretty snug.

4. Remove the wiring harness (blue) from the light assembly, pull out the two other bulbs from the housing, one being clear, the other being amber (the clear one is a bitch if you have larger hands) and remove the other harness that's on the outer corner. The two mentioned bulbs are removed by just twisting the connector and pulling it out.

5. Remove the black part that was under the headlight by removing the two black screws on top and the two silver screws towards the bottom. Both are 10mm.

6. I removed the connectors from the ballast myself, on at the ballast and the other a little ways up the other wire that connected to what I think was my DRL module. You should now only have one wire hanging out of your ballast. Use a self tapping screw to hold down the ballast to the frame that's underneath where the black cover was.

7. Bring all the wiring through the black part when you go to reinstall it. I pulled it through the corner hole, not the big hole, wasn't sure if it would all fit through the big one because of the frame stuff that will be behind it. Remember to plug in your harness into the ballast in the right direction, it fits both ways, but will only power the headlight if installed the correct way. Have the tab on the side with the smaller raised area, so it will be facing the FENDER EDGE of the ballast. Use the other ballast as reference if you don't know what I mean.

8. With the black part reinstalled, start putting everything back into the new headlight. Plug in all harnesses disconnected from the ballast, plug the blue harness to the blue recepticle on the headlight, install the clear bulb to the center hole (this is also a pain in the ass), and install the amber bulb to the hole on the fender side of the light.

9. I think now is a good time to test the light to make sure your low and high beams work properly.

10. Wire up the halo's and LED's. **To use t-taps simply take the open (slit) end and slide it over the factory wire and take the UNSTRIPPED new wire (cut off the stipped end) and place it in the hole that has a stopper on the end. Crimp down the metal part with pliers and close the plastic cover. Make sure the wires are in properly before crimping or you'll squeeze the wire incorrectly*** Take the two red wires and use 18-22 gauge t-taps to tap them to the brown wire on the factory harness. There are two black wires that are smaller then the third black wire. I used two 18-22 gauge t-taps for these as well, tap them to the black wire on the factory harness. Take the white wire and use a 14-18 gauge t-tap to tap onto the brown wire on the factory harness. Take the remaining black wire (larger than the other two) and use a 14-18 gauge t-tap to tap it to the black wire. Same goes exactly for the other side. Test after tapping. If one or more LEDs is not working, try pushing it in, some people have popped it out a little and it won't light up.

11. If all is good, you're ready to aim then reinstall. To aim, you need a 5/16" socket and a small extension (for ease). I've found you can aim these with the headlights half-installed. Push the headlight assembly back into place (ready to have the screws installed), then pull the fender edge out enough to fit your socket onto the adjuster bolts. There are two on the low beams, turn BOTH equal turns to adjust, I believe it's loosen (left) to raise, and tighten (right) to lower. Adjust the headlights as necessary. Once they are lined up, reinstall the headlight by putting it back into place and reinstalling the two 10mm bolts. Check everything out again, check the aim once more and you're done.

If I missed anything please fill me in. Could someone make this a 3rd gen install how-to?

First off did you get HID's with your light if so did you order the drl module with your lights, cause if not it will cause that problem when the daytime running lights are active. If you didn't purchase the drl module try pulling your DRL fuse and see if that fixes your problem. I hope this helps.

Edit: this is only for 07 and newer that use the low beams for DRL's. 05-06 use the running lights as the DRL's and don't seem to have this problem.

Oh sorry it does matters if you have HID's cause this only happens if you have HID's. If you do a quick search you'll get a hand full of threads that explain what I said in my previous post.
