Edit: this is only for 07 and newer that use the low beams for DRL's. 05-06 use the running lights as the DRL's and don't seem to have this problem.
You know since you brought that up I've had that problem with one of my headlights too, i just thought something was loose. I checked and couldn't find and thing. But theres not a bunch of consistency, idk. Yeah if you turn them off and back on their fine. but i did pull my DRL fuse and i also have HID's.

If the lights only turn on after a few times of turning it on and off a few times it is almost always a loose connection coming from a connector. I would double check the wires that go into the connectors and the grounds inside the housing.

I haven't read all 16 pages of this thread and I'm still a noob with the Cobalt, but what exactly does the anti glare mod consist of? Also has anyone retrofitted good lenses like TSX or S2000 lenses into the 3rd gen housings?

i think the reason there not turning on is because the ballast is not getting a good charge, i dont know ANYTHING about hid in cars, but hid is like a flourescent bulb, if the ballast starts going bad, you gotta flip your light switch a few times to get a good charge for the light to come on, if both lights are off one balast then that makes no sense, but if its a balast for each one i would say theres either a short in the balast or its a bad balast.... \o:

The ballasts power the H1 bulb to give it the extra brightness and DRL's are just your daytime running lights

So I have 50W ballasts with the plug and play harness for my HID headlghts. I have noticed when they are on, my radio reception goes down by like maybe 40%. a significant amount. I was wondering if getting relays for them would solve this issue. I didn't get the relays because somebody.....nameless....told me I didn't need them.

I was also hoping that if I did go the relay route then hope beyond hope maybe my right headlight would also maybe get its act together. I have to replace some bulbs and aim them anyways so I will double check the wire connections again just in case.

Any specific wire connections (colors? pictures?) that I should be checking again?

Questions are as follows:

1) Do you get a set of halogen H1's for the high beams with either the headlight kit or combo w/ HID's.

2) How hard is to replace the LED's in the halos/three little ones, because I plan on having these on all the time as a weak DRL.

3) Also considering adding my own 12V+ to the halogen high beams to make them DRL's (relayed from pin 87a of a relay connected to the low beam HID's)... what do the wires coming out of the back of these look like? Can I do what I please with the high beam wire?

I just got my set in and aimed and they look great. I have two problems though.

1. The passenger side beam is a LOT brighter than the driver side beam. Think it's the bulb or the ballast?
2. The driver side housing doesn't fit well. It fits very well to the corner at the fender, but there is a gap between the fascia near the grill and the housing that I can fit my pinky through. Has anyone been successful at adjusting the fit on the headlamp assemblies?

I'll get some pictures when it's dark out.

Hey partner, go over your wiring again, we test every projector before they go out so something has to be a miss. Wiggle the wires that go to the halo and that go into where you taped them into. If they flicker on and off when you wiggle them it is a loose connection.

1) Yes sir you do get a set of H1's for the high beams if you buy the projectors with or without the HIDs.

2) The LEDs are not hard to replace, the halo's require you opening up the headlight to replace them. But making them your DRL should not be hard.

3) There are 4 wires coming out of the of the bulb, the smaller black and red wire are the high beam wires. But cutting into them will void the warranty on the bulbs.

Double check to make sure that the bulb did not come out of the housing, that would defiantly cause the bulb to be a lot dimmer than the other one.

If that is not the case, swap the ballast around, drivers side to passenger side and vice versa and see if the problem follows the ballast and just let us know from there partner, we'll take care of you

they dont come in red or blue unless when you buy them you tell them to do that and it will cost more money they only come in white with 3 bluish L.E.D's
