Free ZZP money for someone with an alky kit!
What we are looking for is someone with an AIS or Devils alky kit. We want to borrow the kit for a couple days. We are in the process of working on a long tech article. WE may call it "The deception of injection" or something similar. I post that to be clear on my intentions. I don't want someone pissed later. Anyway, we are going to do one test, that is to test the output pressure of your pump. We'll video tape it. We will then give you $1 in a ZZP gift cert for every pound the pump makes. In theory, you should be $150 that you can spend or sell.
Please don't PM unless it's about sending us a kit.

Yes, but maybe I'll be proven wrong. I'm willing to pay to find out. This is but a very small slice of the larger picture on these injection kits though. I'm going to prove that they not only don't add HP, they take it away (when using anything but nearly pure alcohol)

So you are saying the 18 whp I made off a 50/50 mix was BS????

plus a good healthy drop in IAT2 temps...
gonna be hard to prove that it didnt add HP....
UNLESS your talking about UN-tuned spraying...

It's kind of like putting a bigger intercooler on a car... it doesn't add power, but it allows you to make more power due to a cooler charge and more timing.

Exactly, Wouldn't you contribute that to the meth??? I would. Now if he is talking about throwing it on without a tune then that is a no brainer. Of course it isn't going to add more.Rich afr=less power.

Yea it is, but from what I got out of it was that you can not achieve more power with meth and water unless you are running at least 90% meth. And as stated above, we pulled 18 whp out of it with a 50/50 mix give or take 5%.

More of a compensator.
The fact that you are adding something that isn't air or fuel isn't normally good for the system... the methanol offsets that. But the fact about methanol though, is that it's being injected in such low quantities, that it's energy and octane effectiveness is very minor, as methanol has a lower energy value than gas. The amount of timing you can add due to XX% of meth added, would be set back by the loss of energy, in our applications (of course this is not the case with pure meth fuel vehicles, as they are specially designed for the fuel).
With that said, there was a study done a few years ago that studied the relation of W/M in a system. It was found that to keep the maximum effectiveness of the system, the average car should not spray any more methanol than 5-10% (vehicle dependent) of the volume flow of fuel at any given time. This keep gasoline as the primary fuel. The addition of water is there simply for cooling.
One JRSC Honda in the city here did his own extensive research, proved this many times over.

I disagree.
if its energy and octane effectiveness was "minor"
i wouldnt be gaining such significant amounts of timing.
were talking an equivalent octane increase to running race gas...
and as for the "less energy" point....
shall we talk about E85? it has 34% less energy than gasoline....
are you saying it will make less hp than gas when its properly tuned?
meth/water injected cars should definately have gasoline as the primary fuel. that i completely agree with.
