Sorry I think there is some miscommunication here. Its in China, but the mold has not been made yet. We recently had a fire in our Carbon manufacturing facility which caused a huge backorder issue. This was before the prototype trunk arrived there. We lost alot of our other molds that we already have so they are in the process of fixing those as well. Once those backorders are fulfilled the mold will be made. Once the mold is made, it will take about 1.5 days to pop a single trunk out.
I hope this is little more detailed then my last reply. Ask me questions if you have any!

i can promise you the mold cost no more then 1k to make as far as materials ..labor is bout .40 cents cause the fact they are made in china by a 40 year old man that makes 8 dollars aday and is happy bout it.....but because the vast majority of people know nothing bout molds or working with these kinda materials, so a company and call it whatever they want and charge you whatever it wants...

The item is an original piece. The costs of overhead and the initial prototype is all done by the hands of an expert here. If you haven't been following this thread then you obviously would not know this information. This trunk has been created from scratch and approved by Neil Tjin. The original designer of the trunk. Which means its an authentic piece. Creating the mold is no easy task, nor is it cheap. Granted overseas labor is most of the time alot less, but that costs gets carried over to the final price of the item in question as well. Yes, I know the MSRP of the trunk is high. But, we still sold it for nearly 40% with an X amount of buyers (that's called the cheaper costs of labor getting carried over to you). We are barely able to cover costs and over head with this trunk we made and still walk away with a minimal amount of profit. If you've made a mold before and you spent only a $1,000 on it, come on over to SoCal I will get you a heck of a job with an even better salary. In house labor on this alone was a good 35 hours. We don't pay our fabricator pennies per hour to work on this either. This fabricators greatest accomplishment was the Mazda Furai, where he helped bring the design to life by making the first prototype out of clay only. Anymore issues feel free to PM me and leave this thread for the buyers who are patiently waiting for their items to arrive. Thanks.

me too. for the price i paid and the amount of time these guys took to make this trunk it will be well worth the time to wait. nothing is better than being the only one in your imediate area with this style trunk that NO one else will be able to get if they didnt buy it in this group buy. hell i might be the only one in NY state that will have this trunk, only one other person who i know lives near me is on the list but he is on the back up list so he didnt offically order one.

my main issue is you sold something that not even made...not one...you made a protype out of clay...what if it comes back with fitment issues...these people have been waitng months and will wait even longer...i didnt say anything bout the msrp.....frankly i want one of these trunks but i'm not willing to put money out of something that is untested and unproved...thats my bottom line...i'm not trying to be a troll or start a problem ..just help me understand the thinking...would you be willing to put out 500+ plus bucks on something never made or sight unseen?

But you are being a troll. Read this thread. Every single person that bought in is well aware of the fact that this thing hasn't been made yet and will be quite some time in the making. So, yes, every single one of us ARE willing to shell out 500+ for something we haven't seen.
So, Johnny Come Lately, what's your main issue again? Oh, right. You don't actually have one.

we HAVE seen the shape of it, and we HAVE seen the fitment. If you make the mold out of a modified OEM trunk, and the mold is accurate, fitment will be the same. as long as you drill out the mounting holes in the correct places, it will fit just fine. I'm perfectly fine with paying for it ahead of time, and I'm sure any issues that arise will be resolved. Extreme Dimensions is a large company with a good reputation, and we've always had good luck with them.
