Hypothetically, could we just "swap" our order of a Carbon Fiber trunk for a Duraflex trunk and just have the difference returned to our credit card?

There would be no difference returned to your card, you would just be charged less on the remainder of the deposit. The 16+ Duraflex trunk price.
