Did any of you guys have any problems with where the trunk hinge is hooked up to? It seems rather flimsy and I'm thinking about trying to beef it up just for safety reasons.

No. You did take the two cylinders off the hinges, right?

I'm sorry and you are? I appreciate your concern about your fellow Cobalt family, but we haven't tried to screw anyone over. I don't see your name on the list of individuals who payed for this trunk, so why are you trying to start a "revolution" here? Ask anyone here, I've been there for them whenever they've needed any help, plus or minus a few who were asking for outrageous requests. Less than 50 posts and less than 8 months of membership doesn't give you the right to criticize us in anyway unless you have a personal issue with us that came from making a purchase through me directly.

I told everyone what would be involved. ALL of our parts are suppose to be installed by a professional/body shop, you don't go to a body shop just for paint, you know? Mostly everyone here has been able to do it themselves, so at this point is not about this task being impossible to do, it's about having a certain skill set to do the modifications. If you lack those skills then you will have to pay to get it done. It's as simple as that. Also, on the damaged note, we've packed the hell out of these things, the mishandling isn't coming from us, its the courier. Anyone who has been unhappy and has wanted a new trunk, I've sent it to them. Make sure you have all the facts before you try to blast a company that is trying to help. I am not trying to come off rude, but I don't appreciate someone saying that we are not about taking care of the customer, especially when that's all we've been doing.
I love when people say that. You know just cause of my lack of posts, and time on here don't mean that I don't know anything about these cars, or how to do body work. I come on here mostly to do reasearch for what I'm working on for my friends. Cause when I work on something I have never done before, I have found its alot better to do some reasearch before turning a wrench. and most of my answers get answered on this site as far as cobalt's. And that is why I was on your thread, I wanted to know what I had to do to fit these trunks on my friends car, before I do it, now yeah its not gonna be for a couple months, but from the sound of it, I"m gonna have alot of fun.

I'm really pissed about the whole thing. I told thm right away that it was damaged and I would be really busy for a few months and would not have time to take care of it with moving and things and now that I have the time they are saying sorry its too late. Oh well

You took 3-4 months to reply back with the proper paperwork. I understand you were in the midst of moving, but I sent you a Case Worksheet within 2 business days of you receiving your damaged trunk and you filed the claim approx 90-120 days later. We can't claim shipping damage with UPS because of the time you took to reply. I really do apologize that this is how you feel but it's now out of our control.

None of the trunks would of got damaged if they packed correctly. I fail to see how that is the shipping company's fault.

Oh I agree with you 100% and since they were not packaged correctly, we issued replacements for those who got damaged items. Those who filed their claim in enough time for us to hold the shipper responsible. Please don't look at me as a bad guy, I did everything I could. With the time delay, you have left me with no way to help you.

Its technically your fault for waiting so long. You only have a certain amount a time to make a damaged claim for ups. you waited how long? 3-4 months?

They would have done what you consider to be the "right thing" if you had acted in a timely fashion. Your failure to act is not their fault.
