Maybe it's just me but the only problem I see is between you and harrop. Either you had a solid contract for a fixed price with them and you sue them for breach of contact if they don't fulfill it or you made a bad business decision and you didn't have a contract made up before you offered the TVS up for sale here.
Either way it shouldn't be the problem of your customers. It's good that you have offered some alternatives but many of them were stretching at the original price and shouldn't feel obligated to pay extra because of your mistake.
Sometimes in business you take a loss. Whether it's because you bought to much of something or just guessed wrong about how well an item will sell you blow it out at below cost just to clear out your inventory and get the cash flow. This is no different. You just know before the items land in your warehouse that you are going to take a loss. Preselling is a dangerous game. You just ended up on the wrong side.

If people paid by PayPal and are out of the 60 day range you can still send them money vs a refund. The end result is the same.

Well this just got interesting......

But I'd have to agree with Slash. Who ever jumped on this group buy should still be honored the original group buy price. Saying whoever got theirs already was lucky and got the better price isn't right. Take it as a lesson learnt and know for the next time around. It's just good business practice.

Did I miss something here? As far as I can see you didn't give anyone 12 months interest free. You made them pay up front and wouldn't ship anything until they had given you enough money to cover it. They lent you money for the last few months. Why do you think stores offer lay away. They get people who can't afford something to commit to buy at no risk to the store and they get to use the customers money for free in the meantime.
The real drama starts if everyone asks for their money back. I am betting if you can't afford to lose $2-3,000 by selling them at a loss you will run into even more trouble trying to find $20-30,000 to pay them all back.
If I may make a suggestion. Rather than asking for more money for the same product you already sold them at a lower cost try building a better deal for them. Take products that you manufacture or source and make a bundle price. For instance, add in your longtube(500), stage 2 rotated mount($200) and short shifter, bushings and clamps (230) to the group buy at your cost if they pay $150 more for the blower. No need to tell anyone other than the people in the group buy what price you offer them at. Or, offer the long tube for an additional $350 on top of the original price and a lot of them would bite.
Yet another option would be giving them a base tune to get them going. Either by emailing them a tune or flashing their PCM if they send it in. I imagine you already have all the relevant years unlocked and already have the canned tunes built so it wouldn't cost you anything other than a little time.
Sure not all the people will be able to afford more stuff and some of them already have a lot of your products. You will lose money on those people and that sucks but life goes on. Some of them won't be able to resist the bargains and will buy more of your items so the net outcome is you will lose less money or break even and have happy customers.

I'm not going to debate this. You don't have all the info and you are making assumptions. As far as I know you don't have an order for a tvs? If you don't please leave the thread so that it doesn't get cluttered anymore.

It's not a debate. I haven't bought one nor do I know someone who has bought one. I just know the deal you are now offering is ridiculous and am only giving you some suggestions on how to make everyone happy. What you have proposed would be shot down by any one who has ever been in business.

Josh let me congratulate you on doing the stand up thing. While the loss may sting I hope you make it back a thousand fold. I will remember this when it comes time for me to buy something again and I hope others will as well.

The only difference between an LSJ setup and one with an LE5 is the cold side charge pipe so yes it would otherwise work, if his kit includes an intake manifold then everything would work save maybe having to pick up an LSJ throttle body.
