Axels

Hey has anyone had any problems with the o7 cobalt ss/sc axels. Two of my freinds have them and they both went to the track and have broken them. One of the cars was stock the other had stage 2 a 2.79 pulley and a torque dampner. Please let me know because i have an 07 and i really want to know if i need to worry abot the axels or if maybe they just have bad luck.

the axels are about as thick as your finger. they won't hold up to much abuse. they can snap from just one wheelhop.

Ive made 25+ runs on my 07 and never had a problem. that also includes beating on it around town as well.

cant remember off the top of my head. . . where can you go to buy axels?

I would think so but would you a need "stage 2" rear axel as well or only the front?

There are no rear axels. FWD. Before doing any serious engine mods, invest in the drivetrain.
go to www.driveshaftshop.com

I have a full season of racing on my 06. Axles should be the same. No problems here. My wife also ran her 2.4 a few times. She hasn't had any issues either.

Start off with motor and tranny mounts, that will eliminate wheel hop which is a huge factor in snapping axles. Now as long as the hammer isnt dropped high off the line you SHOULD be ok.

We carry level 2 axles that will help. Also a solid engine mount will keep movement down and help also.
