Brake Pad Recommendations

Hey there, I need to replace the front and rear pads on my 2006 SS and was wondering what kind of pads, and possibly rotors, you guys would recommend? I'd like to be able to pick the pads up from a local auto parts store, but the rotors I have no problem buying online. If anyone can give me any good recommendations I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Some of this depends on how you are using the car. Are you just driving it on the street, or are you planning to go to the track, where you will be getting the brakes hot repeatedly?

Any blank OEM spec rotor and almost any name brand pad that matches what you need

Stock is real hard to beat.
Front pad 25894320 rotor 19303825 caliper pin set 22705329
Rear pad 10365723 rotor 19303822

A real good oem quality rotor is ok too, but I beleive stock to be better.
Stock pads are killer.

Any basic pad is great and for the rear. You only have to change rear pads once a year or two dep on how you drive. If you drive the hell out if it and brake hard meaning if the stop sign is 10 ft away and you decide to break late then get the cheap $20 pads lol. The gold or whatever they call them these days isn't really worth is if your a hard breaker. Descent rotors are about the same especially since you can downshift to save pads. Your only buying another month maybe 2 from having to replace them from gold to silver especially if you drive it hard or like to play around and race it a little

I would recommend shopping on amazon for pads from delco professional line or raybestos advanced technology line. Good prices and free shipping. Also wagner for rotors and pads.

Lol @ replacing brakes yearly.

You must being something very wrong if you're changing pads and rotors that often.

My OEM Brembo pads lasted over 130k kms. Think that's like 85k mi.

lol @ buying cheap pads if you brake (not break) aggressively.
And also, not any basic pad is great. Only great pads are great. Most except stock are only mediocre.

Something very wrong or something very fun. I wish my race pads lasted an entire year. Or my tires, for that matter lol
