Coilovers where to get your alignment.

Okay well I got a couple of questions as far as alignment with coilovers. Basically what type of place should I look for when finding a shop to do the alignment for my car after coilovers. We have a tire places but Honestly I don't know if I trust them. Should I find a motorsports type shop where they specialize in is tuner cars? Is the alignment the same as if you just had a normal strut w springs? Last but not least anyone have any suggestions in Memphis where I could go?

well i guess its a matter of what you want.....do you want a race alignment or do you want your average alignment?

race alignment would require your own personal camber preferances, caster preferences, ride height adjustment and so forth....more then likely you will need to find a shop that will do those alignments.

regular alignment.....pretty self explanitory. they just get the car to oem specs.

Anywhere that does alignments. Luckily there are a lot of performance oriented shops around that will simply ask what you want the settings to be haha. If not you have to look the GM stuff up on your own. Most shops that do alignments on a regular basis will have that though.

0 toe.

P.s. Front end alignment only!!!

You cannot align the stock rear end.

basically slamming the car to the ground causes your axles to bind...... also you will having turning issues. it looks kool but its definately not good for the car.

only way to align it is by loosening the body mount bolts and shifting the whole beam. 99% of the shops out there won't even think about considering it.

So what about when you have ones with adjustable camber? Do you have to get it aligned to the camber plates in order for the camber markings on the plate to be correct/in sync?

For instance, would I first set the plates to say zero and then tell them to set camber to 0 and then I'm good to go after that?... or would I already be good to go after install?

yes, if you set the camber plates to 0, and they adjusted the knuckle mount to 0, you should be set to dial in camber with your upper mount plate. Assuming the know what they're doing, and set it to true 0.

not sure haha. I would ask the dealer, or your alignment shop. they have access to that stuff.

Making them stronger does not lessen the problem of binding axles Steven...
