fe5 shocks with fe3 springs

so i just bought some fe5 shocks for cheap and i wanted to know if the fe3 springs would fit on them. the reason i wanted to know is because the fe5 springs are smaller then the fe3 springs.

Smaller?

FE5 springs should be a bit shorter (and stiffer) but FE3 springs will fit just fine on the FE5 struts.

Curious to how this will ride / handle - should be somewhere between the two I would imagine....

I had FE3 setup, went to pedders/FE5 struts and was surprised to see FE3/FE5 struts and rear shocks were exactly the same down to the stampings. Same #s, same Sachs shocks, same $hit.
