Koni struts with stock springs?

I just bought Koni struts for the front and rear for less than 400 on ebay and now Im wondering if my stock 2005 fe1 sedan springs are gonna be okay with these struts? And how much on average do you think a mechanic will charge for install of all 4 struts no springs(yet).

And for springs I've read eibach pro series and the konis make the ls ride better than stock ss setup?

And after that what other things should I look into replacing to improve ride quality? like sway bars..ect..?

It'll be just fine. You should get some lower springs though eventually.

When you lower the car, you'll feel more bumps on the road.

Where did you go on ebay to get konis for only less than 400 front and rear?

Sure it will work, but for how long? springs do not cost a lot you can get a full set for 100-200 dollars just do it right so you don't break something costly or at high speed. besides Koni says they are designed to work with lowering springs more over stock springs.

From the how to on this site, it doesn't look that hard to do. You just have to have the right tools.

of course it's fine to put stock springs on koni shocks.... Ideally you would put the shocks on at the same time as lowering though. mainly due to the shocks "getting used" to a certain area.

all-be-it the koni's operate at peak efficiency at a lower height than stock, they are still more than capable on a stock vehicle height. the koni's get the claim of being geared more towards lowered vehicles because the setup they offer can operate even on hella dropped vehicles. On my old civic i had KYB AGX's and Neuspeed racing springs(meant for 2nd gen integra), my shocks only had about a thumb of working distance. After years, even on Oregon's shitty roads the AGX's held true.

so really when your seeing statements saying yes put these on a lowered vehicle, it's because they've developed shocks that can operate in a wide range of length.

Does this all make sense?

You can run Konis on a stock suspension, you will not damage them.

You say you want better "ride quality" but also say that you want the "stiffest nicest" springs, what kind of ride charactersistics are you looking for, what contributes to a good ride quality in your mind?

Eibach Pro-Kits are a nice spring, they give a nice drop and arte stiffer than the Sportlines......most people think the Sportlines are stiffer because they are bottoming out all the time and riding on the bump stops.

I have the SS springs, I recommend them, if your not lookin to get slammed.
