Lowering Springs Comparison

Its entertaining how CSS used to ride pedders **** (including the vendors,) always saying its the best spring, etc. etc. now look how times have changed lol
Im still rocking my sportlines (had them on since my car was brand new <1000 miles on it) Still going strong... though i think my shocks are getting tired on them, ride is a bit harsh.. though i think im used to it since it does not bother me at all and I'm pretty pickey
Ive had a couple other cobalt owners ride in my car and they say its pretty comfortable. Drop is nice, though if I were to choose again I would get H&R sports because they drop lower and look great. I'm getting coilovers soon anyways so I dont really care at this point.
Overall, I like the sportlines for their drop and duribility (been trouble free and I daily drive my car - snow, rain, etc.)

i agree with you. my friend has the ssc verison and his are alot lower than mine.
The front on my car barely has gap at all. I was surpised. and the rear has 1 1/2 inch gap

It's not entertaining it's a gigantic pita. It was due 100% to complaints from members about Pedders and requests from members on here that we produced a better spring for cobalts. Made in the USA. I have tried Eibachs the ride and performance on track was not as good as stock. The spring rate is less so that's not a big surprise. Enjoy what you have.

The grand am race cars were down to 24.5 to the fender at the front, with about half an inch of rake ( 25 at the rear) but the rear was a dropped spindle, and the inner fenders on the race car are removed.
Tire hits the upper inner fender structure at 24.5

Tom @CED sent me to Pedders directly, and they did ask for the barcode label the last time I asked for warranty on springs for a customer; these springs were about 8 months old. I gave that info., to them, along with pictures. They did nothing.
Since C_D_88 had issues, must be three years ago now, it continued on and on, Warren Wang was another one later on....and now folks dont want to know about them, and I fit into that group.
In all I was burned for three sets of springs I warranteed, and still have sitting here...Tom@CED ate a set for me, as thats who I was buying them from in the end. But Tom is a stand up guy...and I dont know if Pedders reimbursed him.
In our analysis of brand new latest batch pedders ( last summer) the material they are made on is (how do I say this politely?) less than the best.
Junk.

that's pretty shitty. I'm not a fan boi by any means, but I've been looking into getting into pedders for a while b/c they were the only progressive spring I knew of for our cars. I ******* hate these frankenstein eibachs that I'm on atm....and would really enjoy handling, especially now that i have tires that actually hook now

its true. I wondered why, at the get go they would not reveal spring rates to me when I asked. So I simply rated them myself with our spring rate machine. I have done most of the aftermarket springs out there. Eibach are softer than stock as well. They just collapse under load...lol and feel stiff ( of course)
