LSJ Brakes Pad Selection. Street + AutoX
Hey Guys,
So after tons of searching i have found some great information on the brake pads compatible with the SS/TC.
From what i have read.
Hawk HPS seem solid without many complaints
EPS Red are good at track once up to temperature
And that the OE Ferodo pads are the best all around (Saw Mr.Powell confirm that statement)
Unfortunately i haven't been able to find much information on pads for the LSJ SS/SC.
After all the good reviews of the Ferodo pad i went searching and comparing part numbers vs. their website it appears that this pad could be compatible:
FERODO Part # FDB4406
But without being able to obtain much information on that pad im really not sure if it would work with the LSJ.
Using the same source i can find these Akebono pads:
More Information for AKEBONO ACT1028
But i don't believe they are the same
I have a close to stock LSJ that is my daily driver and is also taken out to the autoX track for fun.
Any help/info is much appreciated!

The Brembo come with HP1000 Ferodo stock. I dont recall asking who made the OEM LSJ compound, but it is good. You cant always find decent pads, and sometimes the ceramic ac delco are very good and close to OEM but for my money? OEM@CED.

While i have your ear... I'm in the process of trying to find tires for the next AutoX season. With the 2014 rules stating i can no longer run R Compound tires along with the necessity for them to be UTQG of 140 or greater. Any advice by chance?

Much appreciated man! I will most definitely be going the CED route.

wow I did not know R compound tires are banned. 140 or greater? What about the dunlop Z2 they are on clearout. and I dont think they qualify as R tires. let me check....www.tirerack.com lol
Yeah UTQC has to be 140+ for 2014 and in 2015 is going up to 200+
Thanks for the advice! I have heard good things about the Z2 along with the Hankook RS3. I also know people liked the BFG Rival but i believe they are R tires
