My springs do clank alot. Do yours? The coils are so close it must be easy for them to hit together a lot.

front or rear? did you rust check them? important for corrosion resistance, and to deal with noise, or put some conduit or plastic hose on them. Funny thing is, mine dont clank, dont think wangspeed's do, Amanda's 07 Lt out in Alberta has had them on longer than most people and she hasnt said anything, and , 09calicobalt hasnt said anything etc, but there are for sure a few people reporting that and they did the plastic hose or rust check mod and it appears to take care of it... ps I have not put v.2 on my car yet thats to do this coming week...keep me posted roadrunner, interested in what you find.

Its the rear that clanks. It happens even over small dips in the road. Its not all that loud though.

the dead coils actually help keep the spring in place over bumps, one thing that is perhaps an issue is the tightness of the lower coil on the isolator. Its an easy fit, as is the stock OEM spring. I am wondering out loud if thats an issue, but I doubt it. More likely is the bunched up inactive coils...try some rush check and let me know - creates a rust proof barrier and an spring isolation as well.

The springs clank much more now than they did before and its both the front and back. And there pretty loud now. I haven't sprayed on any rust check yet though. Ill give that a try soon and see if that help.

Mine clanked a few times till it took it to the twistiest road I know and worked the hell out of it. Nice and quiet now.

The right side was the side I heard clanking previous to that. It was obvious, John, but it was not often. 2,3 times up front, once or twice in the rear. You can't miss it. Checked for something loose during the alignment. Didn't see anything. Doesn't do it at all anymore, after working them a bit.

Oh, something to know. The tan colored sound isolators that go on top of the spring in the back? Look like rubberized canvas? Mine are gone. The Pedders chewed right through them. I'd think that if the springs in back were resonating I'd really really hear them with those missing. Got nothing anymore.

Maybe working the car seated something? Couldn't guess what though. Didn't have problems putting in the bump stops like I did with the Pedders. Good job by you on that, and the skin on my knuckles thank you.

John I remember you saying it before but could you remind me, what do you suggest putting on the springs to help prevent rust during winter?
