not too bad if you just want to bolt them on

but to really make them stiff you need to weld them or use lord fusor

BYT*SS*TURBO 05-10-2011 09:19 AM

Ordered one yesterday to test out :)

tylerjclance 05-10-2011 09:19 AM

I like how when I go on Powell's online store there's nothing for cobalts. LOL

suprisingly does take a long ass time..especially when ur pinch welds are flat to begin with lol

09sscalicobalt 05-10-2011 03:54 PM

haha u welded them on andrew? wtf lol

RooTBeeR 05-10-2011 03:58 PM

hells yeah! my cars stiffer than a pecker in the morning!

G Speed 05-10-2011 04:07 PM

hey guys becareful... I did something stupid a few days ago..

I jacked my car up, using the ucr point... put axel stands underneath on both sides...

Well I was pulling off my right rear tire.. my car moved down a bit? so I'm like what the hell?

Look underneath looks good...

Did my left rear tire.. same thing... so now I double check the stands...

Turns out the rear of the car was about .5 of an inch to high for the axel stand lol

that's how much it stiffens up the car, had to raise the car a bit more.. jut to get the axel stand on the rear to sit lol

So its interesting. Now I tried the new XXX bar on the street. Scott Herbert and Slowbalt have reported car handles better in auto x. Slowbalt actually got fastest RAW time last weekend, congrats.

But for the street? Actually the car is really nice on off /on ramps; I gotta couple favesw I like to dick with that are long decreasing radius that can give a fwd fits. Good. very good.

What does happen not so good, is subtle though. "head toss" is one thing; hard sprung cars suffer from that. Thats when you drive down the road and the car reacts to bumps and undulations by a movement that causes your head to "toss" side to side.

and lastly something that happened back in the day with rwd muscle cars that were characteristically undersprung and over bar'd. The big front bar would make the car d dart unnecessarily or behave like it had bump steer on small undulations... only now with this rear bar, its different, the car does it at the rear. very slightly, not alarming, but the first time it does it ,you think "wtf did I run over something?"

Need to drive in wet weather next, but both Scott and Allan are happy.

o
so am I

lol

ps next bar will be candy blue for me...

PS not the thread but UCR'S bonded are the way to fly...unless ur name is Rootbeer and u weld them

68nova200 05-10-2011 10:52 PM

When is there going to be a site to buy all these parts?

CordiaDOHC 05-10-2011 11:03 PM

John your killing me. Im putting money aside for the old new daily and vacation.

you got me wanting to grab the ucr's the harness bar and the xxx bar from you

And the way you describe the bar makes me think of my old work truck as far as the bumpsteer comment. Ironically I always found it a bit fun when the truck did that

Keep up the good work man!

ls1fbody 05-10-2011 11:07 PM

1.5" is weak. You need 1.75 ;)

still the only one, but if you add the 1.5 and the stock tc weld in, its pretty close to what you got. only the shear point/roll center is different...

Tip, get konis for the rear. That problem will go away. The uphill esses @ VIR triggers it quite badly. Totally gone after I got the Konis and saw the shock dyno. Stockers do not have enough low speed rebound.

Looking forward to my bar.

Konis on the rear:twothumbs
Just installed em on my TC with Pedders and Street bar...worth every penny.
Thanks to Wangspeeds feedback!

what s the part number Ronn? I am just gonna have to test this. ur bar en route i dunno if Kweenredline sent you the tracking #

CordiaDOHC 05-11-2011 08:48 PM

Also curious about the koni's over the tc shocks. I assume you guys are talking about the koni sports. Tirerack has them listed for 40 more (for 2) than the tc shocks so its close enough in price.

Getting me curious as to how the 1.5 bar would feel with the FE3 front bar eibach pro kit springs tc struts and maybe koni rear shocks.....
