Got it, and your car looks good with them on. Once I get them, I'll post some pics for comparison.

If he has a coupe, they sit different in the rear than the sedan.

Also, I know for a fact that SSC springs use dead coils in the rear, I used to have them. I used to have a pic of it but I can't seem to find it

SSC springs installed on an '09 SS coupe (note the dead coils).

Lowered: 1" drop all the way around with 3 days driving time about 200 miles.

rear spring upper cushion. This is part of the upper mount insulator as near as I can tell from the parts catalog. Recommend you have some 1/4" dense foam on hand when you replace your springs. https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/memb...cushion-15295/

That's just strange. I guess some people just happen to get a set of springs with no dead coils lol

I just installed SSC springs on my Cobalt last weekend. I have dead springs in the rear and my cushion were broken. I replaced them with toilet bowl washers lol...

I'm guessing for this application (09 coupe) they're all gonna be the same. This is setting on the ground, maybe the others were still on jacks or the dead coils were installed to the bottom. The ride and handling are very good.

Could the dead coil debate have anything to do with the differences between FE1, FE3 and FE5?

This. Also I thought everyone knew that the dead coils are there for when you unload the suspension so your springs don't fall out like other crappy designed springs do.

Sitting at 25.5" front 26.25" rear.

Whether or not the manufacturer of the spring is the same or not it sort of a moog point when there's a pretty clear difference in the actual spring design.
