The koni fronts are inserts meaning you use the housing of the stock strut to actually bolt them up to the car. They have instuctions i'm sure on koni's site if you want to see what all is involved.

That is correct, detailed instructions on the process are on the site and also are included in every package.

x1000 I would like to know too. Don't know much about suspension. Would not mind dropping the cash if there is a big benefit. If it allows you to lower your car with springs without wearing out the struts then I may be game.

im just confused on why they are adjustable? does adjusting it change the ride height or just how much it moves?

also, what springs are you talking about how much drop? gimme a nice price i'll pay for it asap

The dampening rate is adjustable, the ride height is not adjustable through the struts. I had adjustable KYB AGX's on my cavy and the adjustmentability so to speak was very nice.

Correct me if I am wrong but this is how I understand how struts/shocks work:

Shocks/struts determine how much force is required to change the height of your springs, now this is not to say that your shocks/struts control the height of your springs, only the rate at which your springs compress. Your springs ultimately control the height of your car.

For an easy explination, think of an old cadillac, you hit a bump in it you are going to keep rebounding off the springs because the struts/shocks are most likely dead, whereas if you have a set of brand new OEM struts/shocks the car will rebound maybe once and level out. These Koni struts/shocks allow you the ability to adjust between those 2, although it probably wont be adjustable to be compared with a set of dead shocks.

I was going to buy these tomorrow but with this price change I probably wont.

I could not keep that sale because my distributor gave me inaccurate pricing info. Basically that would have been the price for 1 strut. SO I had to adjust the price. I am still going to be under any ebay price you guys will find. Plus the price is for the struts shipped to your house. I am not going to charge ridiculous shipping prices that I am sure people have witnessed on ebay. I know I have. And If you guys find it cheaper. PM me the link and I will beat that price. I am trying here.....


And thanks for clearing up the dampening portion of the strut part. Although I think that others will still be a bit confused....lol. Call me up an i can explain any confusion directly.

No, you are adjusting the dampening of the shock. Basically the travel of the suspension ( the springs ) . The springs are what drops the car, and if you were looking to adjust height after wards you would probably need a full coil-over set. I will post up a sale for a nice coil over set ASAP.

Well the rears are easy to take out. So its not a permanent setting. However I would ask your self what would you like the car to feel like. If you want the car to feel a bit more neutral and have a less understeer feel....where the car feels like it wants to rotate, than I would go for a more firm setting. However it also varies how and where you drive. EX autoX or track....both??

Let me know how you are planning to drive it and what kind of other suspension mods you have (ex: stiffining devices, sways....etc. )


However if you want to keep it safe where it would be good all around I would leave them at about half firm. Than after driving adjust accordingly to your needs.

i do 80% street 20% nhighway driving, i have a strut brace engine mount and control arm bushings, i wouldnt mind it a little stiffer.

Okay....So I would say go about 60-50% firm on the rears and play with the fronts to get the right feeling for the car. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

When koni installed mine they put maybe a 1/4 turn from the softest setting. The difference from Full soft to full firm is almost a full turn but not quite 360*.
