Not going to name whose file this is but this is not a stock turbo car and this is James tune. Look at this WG table. WTF was he even thinking? It is clear he has no idea how to tune the wg on these cars especially the part throttle areas.

And the Max airload torque table.

P0106 set to 400 kpa

A bit lean for someone who often tunes at 0.80 lambda LOL (This is a gas tune not ethanol).

Tip in retard is gone. Timing tables have a ton of low end and midload spark removed so no where near MBT (optimum spark). DALs are a bit high from 60% desired torque on.

Not sure what else to say about that except for.... wow.

I assume he is trying to use the WG to control the boost but did a very poor job of trying to do it.

^^ Ouch. Sucky.

Crazy that now the proof has been kind of PILING ON.... none of the "nutswingers" (not my words) have really piped in AT ALL to defend any of the documented proof of these crappy tunes that this guy has done. Funny how that works.

More poor wg control on the same tune. Pressure RPM Factor is close to stock which up top means boost will fall off to 240 kpa (20 psi) or less depending on altitude but could spike up to 300 kpa in midrange depending on barometric pressure. This turbo can hold 26 psi flat or slightly higher up top so there is no need to have the boost taper off like that. I wonder how anyone with one of his tunes made any kind of power especially once they went larger turbo.

Sure is... I sent Term the file I pulled from the car (the reason I started this thread)... Maybe he can post some better screen shots. I have seen some questionable tunes by others, but this one takes the cake and then some... Can't wait to see Term's comments...

I don't understand the pudding.

Can anyone in laymans terms tell us why what we are seeing is bad?

Different tune file. Love these DALs LOL.

Lucky this car is on a MBC because this WG table is awful.

Awesome timing on E-47 at part throttle. Way less than stock timing (up to 20* less than stock) designed for 91 octane and this car is running ~105 octane equivalent fuel. Car also has meth injection as well and can take a lot more than 13-15* in the midrange without batting an eye.

Yes just need you to ask specifically why each one is bad.

Yep another ones of James's tunes. Now we have so many coming out and saying how their car drives or idles poorly and yet somehow so many recommended him and were tuned by him. I do not get it.

i understand the timing, but being new to the turbo/lnf world i don't understand the DAL and WG tables (why theose are bad)

i mean, the wg table i can kinda understand. that's gotta be like driving a bucking bull. but when it comes to dals i'm clueless.

anyone care to explain and make this thread even more informative?

its suppose to be smooth, thats why you see on the 3d graph big humps instead of a smooth transition

The x axis is driver desired torque (pedal) the y axis is rpm. Desired airloads are given in percent where 100% airload is atmospheric pressure or 0 psi on your boost gauge. 200% airload is 2 times atmospheric pressure roughly 15 psi. 255% airload is the ecms max requested. In order to achieve a desired airload the ecm will open the throttle to the angle needed to see it's desired airload. Cranking them so quickly has you at wide open throttle and full desired boost by as soon as 30% pedal so the car is like a light switch either on or off no in between.

And that's why everyone thinks they gained power from the sweet new tune.
