You can if you have the software and I'm assuming you have to know where to look. Ryan showed me after he downloaded the file from my car, and he was sitting in the passenger seat next to me.

But I had a guy datalog my G8 and I could see all the things that were going on, fuel trims, etc. But I guess was your's a mail order? That would explain it I suppose.

Not sure what you mean, I clearly stated I was in the car with James for a couple hours logging and tuning, didn't know anything about what I was looking at though. Didn't say the car was throwing codes, he disabled the dtcs, ( think that's what they are called) so it couldn't throw the code. He'll I didn't even know you could do that.

I see. Well sucks it happened. I've gotten tuned like that before but I guess I just pay more attention to what all is going on in the tune even with my limited knowledge of tuning GM cars.

All the people defending term 2 aren't being called but swingers and I have nothing against David I spoke to him for a while about my car but when I was ready to tune my car he wasn't tuning as much because he was spending time with his family and was after he sold his car. He has explained his self on Facebook so I'm done posting here because once again if y'all have seen some of the tunes zzp has sent out you Would laugh but that's never shown. Good day

Ummm, YEAH..... If I am coming off as a dick, so be it... I really don't care. I'm not here to make friends, and I'm not here to drum up business. I have have ran a successful tuning business for over 8 years now. I do no advertising, its all word of mouth. I don't just tune Cobalts and factory PCMs. And yes, it is a "tuners" job/responsibilty to advise the customer. If a customer comes to be and explains their build and what they are wanting me to do, I am honest and up front with them about the whole process, along with my thoughts and if it is possible. No smoke and mirrors by turning DTCs off.... I also make it a priority to have the best driveability possible, without sacrificing performance. I have been trained to understand what each table means, and how they work together. By looking at this file, and hearing from other "reputable" tuners with good track records of not blowing up peoples cars/investments, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that James is ingorant to how these tables work, or even has a clue what he is doing... I stand by that statement... Also, if you are not datalogging 100% of the time, you would have no clue if KR was happening, and KR happens all the time on factory vehicles with no indication to the driver.... This invalidates your point, and with the rest of your post puts you in the nutswinger category. Look at the facts!

This 100%. This is one of the main reasons I log knock, and have a warning light setup on my interceptor for it. 4* of KR can easily go unnoticed on a car during a pull. That's a scary thought.

I would agree for James to be allowed to defend himself atleast. Or atleast we should see the full tune.

FTR, not that its not obvious, I have very little knowledge about tuning and all the parameters of it.

People that defend his tunes aren't nutswingers. Anyone that got a tune off of anyone will likely defend the tuner unless they had issues with it. Why wouldn't they? Most of us are lost on the subject and havent been tuned by anyone else!

Now heres what i do know about my tune. I ordered it to be safe for running meth. He made it so safe, infact, that I have done a pull a few times while accidentally being out of meth and I didn't pop. He only ramped up the timing so much. We did many logs and he made adjustments from pulling and adding fuel and timing, telling us whether we are on the brink or not, and etc. i told him to remove my cat code. He made sure i was happy before he said to call it a day. So overall, I'm happy with it, as i have no wierd driveability issues, infact it runs much better than it did before (on my canned tune from ottp)

Some customers demand different though. Some really want the tune to turn their car up to the highest level, and thats where sketchy tunes may come in. Granted, no tuner should ever push past the envelope whether someone tells them to or not.

I've only heard of two cars blowing up on his tunes. And like many others have said, its debateable whether it was something in the tune that caused them to happen. Any engine can blow at any time for any reason. Tuning during certain temperatures or in different altitudes are a factor as well, are they not?

Around the New Years is when most of things started happening. Just the fact you stated jog hearing about byt threw a red flag for me knowing you haven't been around long. There was no need to come in to bash. Just stating a fact.

Not a nut hugger here, but when I went hptuners, there was a couple people I knew already tuned hptuners. I asked them who tuned them, many said James. I was looking for multiple tuners but his name got mentioned a bit to me. I gave it a try and its been fine and smooth. I've had a guy I know who tunes srts looked at the logs as well and he said there was little things that could be fixed and my next revision, they were fixed. My car runs fine though. I do have interceptors and a wideband and they both read fine. No knocks as well as on key and point.

I'm not hating on any tuner or mentioning any names, but some people do over look things from time to time and **** does happen. I know a particular company on this forum who gave my buddy a PCM tune and his car made it 2 days before blowing the block. They said it was improperly maintained and it got pushed aside like nothing happened.

Yup. PS, i'm also with Wert842. I was looking for a tuner that was as highly experienced with LSJ's as possible, not just someone who says they can tune. So when i heard he was pretty much the most predominant in the ecotec scene from X amount of ppl i said **** it and went for it. Call me a sheep, but i figured going with someone with as much experience as him didn't sound like a bad idea

im not trying to bash lol. i just said it sounds like it. im just here to watch and see what is out there. and i know a few people with BYT tunes, whats wrong with his? O.o i know my tuner is poop though. smh. that will be getting taken care of though when i get home and get the zfr. me and someone else was tuned by this local guy who is pretty big with porsches and was with another shop doing mainly LSX engines, but the guy who just got tuned had his tune looked at and apparently it looks like **** smh. hate to see what mine looks like.......although no codes or problems yet so who knows. idk **** lol.

My point is James has tuned 100s of cars. And we have seen 2 pop??? And how many people have actually came in and said my car runs like ****. I've heard more complaints on other tuners and seen tunes that came off other cars and what was on mine. And for him to have meets and spend 3 days straight tuning not getting to enjoy the meet I'm sure he is doing a good job. But if it makes everyone feel better ill get another ss and have every tuner we have here to tune it and when they are happy post every one of the tunes on here. So it's the same variables same car same area and everything is the same.

I think apart of why no one says anything about James is because anytime someone does... Threads get locked, and people get banned.

It's easier to avoid the situation, and find a new tuner.

Anytime someone mentions it the RPT club come in here and bash the person to hell, mods get involved and then it gets locked.
