E47.5 'tune', from my HHR SS automatic
A sweet E47.5 tune from my 2009 HHR SS automatic.
It's very smooth, & very powerful.
It ramps up to 25 PSI , quickly, holds there, then drops off a few lbs at high RPM.
Even if you decide not to go Ethanol, my automatic trans tables, might help you with smoother, & quicker shifting. Also you can "boost-launch" well, with my tables.
1.96 , 60' best , on drag radials, by 'boost-launching.
Before I got my HHR automatic in early 2009, I had tuned my LS1 Camaro with E60.
I've been running Ethanol for 3 years now in my LNF.
I started out in 2009, running E25, & running in the mid 13's, by mid 2010.
And with tuning by Term2, in late 2010, I got into the low 13's @ over 110mph, & got a best of 12.97 on DR's.
The Timing/Cam tables that I'm using now, in my HHR, were created by Nick, for "Dayhoff35", & made my DD even better on the street, all year around.
I also picked up a solid 'tenth', 12.86 best, with Nicks Timing/Cam tables.
One of my first attempts - HP Tuners Bulletin Board
Nicks "Dayhoff" tune can be found in post #49 of this thread.
My tune can be found in post #67 of this thread.
E85 MPG's - HP Tuners Bulletin Board
This slighly older thread, is a good 'read', as it shows how hard Nick, worked,
to develop a good running Ethanol tune. In post #40 of this thread, Nick
talks about his 'fine-tuning' efforts, that results in the "Dayhoff-tune", that
he released in the other thread. I thank Nick for posting the "Dayhoff" tune,
for all to see, & use, before he fell off the face of the Earth, at the end of
last year.

Found this video of me going 13.13 on street tires, at the end of 2010.
In the 'text', he states that he saw one of my 110mph passes.
He also said that I was older, I'll be 60 next year...
This pass was with a Term2 tune

how much of a difference does ethanol really make for you tuned guys? im from Massachusetts so there are no ethanol stations im just curious\
and im very happy to find that the auto HHR's are putting down the same power as the manuals since they have less from the factory.

Yeah I'm going the e 47 route in 2 weeks once I get my new Clutch installed, There arent many e85 stations around me to say the least but thier is one about 17 miles from my work and I'm just gonna fill up like three 5 gallon containers and that should last me like 2 weeks at a time, I think its worth it for the added HP

....like brake boosting? i've never tried to launch like that.. I might try that an see what happens.. it might be tough tho, tryin to keep the RPMs steady, foot on the clutch, an foot on the brake at the same time

Yea i was about to say i dont think it applys the same to a Manuel. I only build to 5 psi then let off the brake and go. Comp mode/launch control in the auto kinda sucks cause you just spin like a ****. Its only good at the track if its prepped right.
