Yea it seems you can do alot more with hptuners for our cars.

However I know EFI Live is popular with the guys that tune Camaros, GTO's, Trans Ams, etc.

Do you have to use the EFI flashscan tool to write to the ECU or could you use a Tatrix OpenPort cable to write the tune onto the ECU with the EFI Live program?

You need the efilive cable.

For those considering efilive, don't waste your money. You can do some tweaks with it, but you have no where near the control for our pcm like you do with hptuners. It's a waste of money to spend $100 to unlock efilive for tuning only to realize you can't fully tune your car. This is exactly what I did when I was new to tuning.

Care to elaborate on this? I want to know the differences.

efilive doesnt have as many parameters you can tune as hptuners. for example, in efilive theres no injector flow rate table or really any injector control for that matter. whereas hptuners you have everything you need to tune for injectors. iirc, efilive only has the ve table, some torque management and possibly the maf scalar available.

You are not supposed to tune with your injector tables. You tune using the VE tables.

If you're tuning airflow, yes you use the VE tables. However, you DO NOT use the VE table to tune for a change in fueling, for example, changing injectors. You would adjust the injector tables....
