zzp stage 2 custom tune?
Hi, I've been searching around for answers to this question for a few days and have not been able to find anything for the lsj sc's I've only been able to find stuff for the lsj turbo swaps and lnf's. I am going to get stage 2 from zzp and I'm getting a custom tune. Everyone says get a "good custom tune" but what is a "good custom tune"? What does it involve? I know that a tune that works for one car may not work for another it all depends on the individuals setup. My setup with stage to for my 2006 Cobalt SS/SC with the g85 performance package will be:
Oversized tensioner pulley
3.0" pulley
Siemens 60# Injectors
ZZP 3" intake
Everything else will be stock and I will be running 91 octane fuel. Are there any custom tunes like trifecta for the SC's? I have no idea what to avoid tuning wise and what to talk to the tuner about. Anything you can tell me about tuning would help me a ton!

Pretty much you would find someone in your area that is a reliable tuner. A tuner is a person that tunes your car. Tuning involves getting into your Engine Control Module software and he/or she would tweak the values for what you have done with your car. Such as your performance items you want to put on. You would go out and drive your car when your with them also and he would just keep tweaking all your values in your ECM untill your car runs perfect. Hope this helps you

Go with a smaller belt over the oversized tensioner.
I just got a trifecta tune and I recommend it. Very smooth.
Also, with 60's get a 2.8 or 2.9 pulley. You have plenty of injector for more.

The reason I am going with a 3.0" pulley is because I will not be having any cooling mods for now and running a 2.8 or 2.9 without them is going to end badly. I'm going for the 60# because that is the only thing I'm worried about installing myself and I know I'm going stage 3 later so I'll already have the 60# installed and can do everything else myself. How expensive would a Trifecta tune run me? I looked on their website and couldn't find one for the lsj

Why waste money then? If you know your going to do more save the cash and buy would you need to go more instead of wasting it on middle parts.
Get a dual pass, option B, and fmhe now.
Buy a 2.7 or 2.8 plus 60's.
Then tune it all.
Ps it wouldn't end badly. It would actually be fine if you weren't constantly doing back to back pulls.

But BS on searching and not being able to find anything. These threads pop up multiple times a week.

Trust me I did searching I know not to post something like this on here without a good reason because everyone gets tired of having 100 of the same threads. Perhaps I wasn't using the search feature the correct way but the only things I have found have been for the gm stage kits not zzp. If you could link me to a thread that would help me then that would be great.

You need to select advanced search (click the search drop down to see this) / type in key word / & select the LSJ Performance Section.
If you type ZZP stage 2 and follow me instructions, you will find 100's of threads on the topic. Let me know how you make out.
