Just got home from my 24hr shift and my shifter was here....got here a day early .

One thing, the instructions say Cobalt SS Supercharged....interchangable instructions, or do I have the wrong stuff?

Glad to see your shifter got to you early and yes the SS/SC and SS/TC instruction manuals are interchangeable. All of the steps are exactly the same!

there are some slight differences on the ion i noticed when i was installing mine nothing you cant figure out if you stop and think for a minute.

Uh oh.... shifter install problem

Everything went really well, very easy. However, when I got to the point of checking the reverse lock out to see if it was locking on the plastic tab, it wasnt. I adjusted the shift cable every possible way, but still nothing. Adjusting the cable doesnt seem to help seeing its not that it isnt making it far enough back, but rather it isnt making it far enough to the right.... I tried adjusting the other cable to seeing that seems to have more control of the left to right movement, but that didnt really help...

Any thoughts??

unclip the cables put it in reverse then re clip them also the first few times i shifted mine into reverse it was kinda hard it was getting stuck on the plastic piece. but once it wore down it works great

Okay so I just went down and tried that, and as I was doing it I realized I had tried that earlier. It does work....disconnecting both cable clips allows me to get the shifter onto the reverse lock tab....however, once I get it on the tab and go to close the cable clips, the Left cable clip wont close because its on the yellow threaded part. I cant move it off the threaded part without taking the shifter back off the reverse tab!!!!!

Something doesnt seem right. Too bad, because everything else was sooo smooth.

I ended up getting it....it just took a ton of trial and error adjusting with both cables. It was a real tight balance because if I moved it to far to the right, to get onto the reverse lock tab, then I couldnt get into 5th. But if I wasnt far enough to the right I couldnt get on the reverse tab lol. I ended up finding a REALLY small area where everything worked

Shifter feels nice, i especially like how much shorter the throw is from 4th to 5th.

Hey 80vettel82,

I'm glad to see that you got everything to work. The adjustment of the cables is one of those things that you can get in 30 seconds, or that you have to play with it for a few hours lol. I'm going to try to make a video soon on how to adjust the cables so that...hopefully it'll save people some time.

Otherwise, I'm happy to hear you're enjoying the new shifter setup!
