Okay so I just went down and tried that, and as I was doing it I realized I had tried that earlier. It does work....disconnecting both cable clips allows me to get the shifter onto the reverse lock tab....however, once I get it on the tab and go to close the cable clips, the Left cable clip wont close because its on the yellow threaded part. I cant move it off the threaded part without taking the shifter back off the reverse tab!!!!!

Something doesnt seem right. Too bad, because everything else was sooo smooth.

I ended up getting it....it just took a ton of trial and error adjusting with both cables. It was a real tight balance because if I moved it to far to the right, to get onto the reverse lock tab, then I couldnt get into 5th. But if I wasnt far enough to the right I couldnt get on the reverse tab lol. I ended up finding a REALLY small area where everything worked

Shifter feels nice, i especially like how much shorter the throw is from 4th to 5th.
I am currently having the same situation. i can't get the plastic tab on the reverse lock mechanism. when I adjust the cable, I cant close the plastic clip due to the yellow threads. and when I get it really close to the yellow threads, I cant get into 5th gear. right now I have all my gears working but the reverse lock mechanism is barely clinging on to the plastic tab and its tearing away some of the plastic which I fear will eventually begone over time. Is there away of fabricating the rever lock mechanism to straddle the plastic tab easier?

Oh and here are my pics I love the look of it with the other tiny chrome accessories around the interior of the car, it matches nicely. Polished was a good look to go with. Throws are nice and solid now with the STS and the solid bushings. Definately is a nice product to have. The stock shifter does appear to have been rubbery feeling and I didnt even know it A TWM STS is up there with swapping out the restricted downpipe or getting a stickier set of tires. Really does the car justice. Shifter and weight shift knob +solid aluminum bushings were bought at http://www.twmperformance.com/shorts...rt-shifter.htm

now I just have alot of excess *******, i mean shift boot.

Vette, where does your reverse lock out sit? Im at the extreme with my left shifter linkage. Anymore and i wont be able to get into 5th gear. My reverse lock sits halfway on the black plastic tab... If I push it over real hard it can seat onto it.... just curious how yours turned out?

Yeah, mine was the same issue. I just really took my time and kept making VERY VERY slight adjustments to both cables and retesting it after every adjustment. I finally got it to where every gear works and its far enough up on the reverse tab. I do have to make sure I really push the shifter over to the right to get all the way on the tab though....
