My bad I didnt know it was damaged like that I knew it would have some scratches from going through 90k miles but that think looks like hell

To ship from Canada to the US if the package is thicker than 3/4 of an inch or 2 centimeters you pay double the regular postage rate for an envelope. Any package that carries goods (non paper) also carries a higher cost. (maybe because customs has to scan it?
I have seen how little ZZP can ship an item via UPS in the USA to Canada 3 times as much.

The online quotes are not accurate. I shipped him a bowtie already in a small box and it only cost me $8. I just went to the post office and sent it standard post.

In Canada they are accurate my wife and I have an eBay store and we ship regularity and even with our discount we can't ship across Canada for 8.

I still think your best bet is buy one from ebay, once you get it send it to him in CA. If you would have bought the one I showed a week ago you would have had it by now and it would be on its way him. Or you could have had it shipped right to him. http://m.ebay.com/itm/141123784065?nav=SEARCH
