Whats the best year Ion Redline to buy
As the title says, im curious to know what year model ion would be best given each is taken care of equally. Looking at 3 currently, a 05, a 06, and a 07. all look equally promising exterior and interior wise. none have the competition package as far as i know (no steering mounted boost gauge)
05 has 55k miles, one owner. just under 9 grand (dealer) in ohio
06 has 85k, owner number unknown, 7.5 grand *firm* (private) in florida
07 has 66k, one owner, just under 10 grand (dealer) in ohio. Carfax clean on this one, dont have one for the 06 or 05.
So let me know what you guys think. Id be selling/trading my 08 cobalt ls coupe 78k miles for it. Expect to get about 5k for my car, maybe 6k. Is any of them worth it?

All I can say is why are they all so much? I was looking at one listed for 4.5k with 83k miles. Another for 6.7k with 40k miles. Of those though I'd buy the 06 partly because it's the cheapest but also because it is out of the salt belt.

In my opinion, 06 is the best. Comp pack of course if you can find it.
06-07 had a minor trim refresh, such as redesigned radio, center console and cupholders, and trim around the air vents.
All 06-07 came with foglights (05 only had them in comp pack, and 04 did not have them at all).
06 had grey cloth/leather Recaro seats, same design but better color than the 04-05 blue cloth/leather, and 07 didn't get Recaro at all, just leather.
All in all, the 06 had the best options and was the best year of the Redline. I truly believe it is worth it to trade up to one from your LS Cobalt. Mileage might not be an issue depending on the car, if it has mods, if it has proof of receipts for maintenance and if it was taken care of. That would also depend on what your goals were for the car. If you are doing a big out-of-the-car build like I did, the mileage doesn't even matter at all. I would go for the 06, it seems like the best deal. Mileage is higher but look for mods too.

Ive also found a black 06 with 77k that looks clean for 8.6k. it has the competition wheels in the pic but no interior pics. emailed the guy for more info.
for me personally i want one that has not been modified in any way. or if it is, its consists of no more than mild cosmetics or quality bolt on's.

putting price, mileage and year together alone i think id choose the 07.
remember, all parts (save the radio perhaps) are interchangeable. so the seats for instance can be swapped, you can add a boost gauge, trim etc
plus knowing that it has clean carfax is a good thing. (unless it has tons of problems that were never serviced )
if its one owner, mod free and runs good - 07

I live in the suburbs of Buffalo NY the first had work on and was in good shape, someone wanted it gonna and would take a bit less but it was an 04 with 4 owners. Second was a two owner car always garages beautiful shape and an 06. Neither had the performance package. Both were listed on craigslist 6 months apart. Just have to have the time and search a lot to find good deals.

Pm me if you are interested. I have a huge folder of all the receipts and documents for the car. You won't find one that was better taken care of. If your serious ,maybe we can work out a deal. All the black come off the car.
