Wtd: Forged Rods and Pistons 2.4l

Looking for some used rods and pistons forged for an 08 2.4l. Mine are possibly damaged and would rather go forged. If you are trying to get rid of some just tell how many miles we're on them and why you're selling them. Then go ahead and show me the goods

Did you check to see if Mongorat has any? I had written about my LNF rods, but in looking on ZZP's site, I don't think they work in your application.

I am not sure who Mongorat is...

Yeah unfortunately the LNF rods and pistons do not work for the LE5.

Zzp makes le5 rods and sells JE pistons for the 2.4.

Pretty much nobody has an off the shelf piston for the 2.4 except zzp so i doubt youll have luck finding anything used. Mongorat427 is a member on here and i got wiesco 2.4 pistons through him. Realisically the block breaks before the internals on the LE5. No point in upgrading.

That is the single most helpful comment, thank you for takin your time.

I have read that when you start going over 250 on stock internals you're asking for trouble. I know I'm right in that ball park.. on the other hand I have read people pushing over 300 and having no problems. Care to shed some light? I see your sig says winning races and crackin blocks so if anyone should know firsthand I'm guessin itd be you.

What year is your car? 06-07 can take 400hp 08+ can take high 200s

It is an 08. Soon as the weather clears up I'm taking the head off to check the piston damage. I'm really hoping theyre just a little banged up. But just in case I'm leaning towards theyre toast.

Hmm I'm wondering if they are screwed up if I could use the 06-07 rods and pistons?

Pistons are the same. The 06-07 have the better forged rods. Unfortunatly, stock pistons dont fit on aftermarket rods.

Bah that sucks! So in other words youre stuck getting aftermarket pistons for aftermarket rods rather than staying stock pistons with aftermarket rods. Much appreciation for your knowledge on that sir

I've been looking in to that but I'm wondering if the aftermarket manufacturers (cheap ones to mid grade) are just following suit with GM for the cheaper rods in the 08+, you know what I mean? Like why would they make the same quality as 06 and 07 if the same quality in 08 will work just fine... I suppose finding some used ones from someone? What do you think??

And last, how strong are the stock pistons?
Thank you

Mongorat427 can get you wiesco pistons.

The stock pistons are strong but forged pistons can take more knock and heat without being damaged.
